Flights to Lisbon and Porto are cheap. It’s not like tourists don’t have options. And fwiw, when I visited the Amalfi Coast I did it by car…Portugal is not Italy.

Totally agree... very different. Best way to see Amalfi is via car. Portugal is a small country and easy to drive outside of Lisbon where a car is more of a burden.

So true ..yet people here in Portugal do not have the same wages and are finding it difficult to make ends meet. I know what you mean, easy access means more people and loss of charm. Algarve is still nice and not as built up as Costa del Sol

If Portugal does things the same way as every other tourist mecca, a few people will make bank and most people will be worse off than they are today.
