HVC: The Point at Poipu, 3 deeded weeks, 1 is in The Club.
Made it to the pool bar in time for a mai tai and cheeseburger. It's a tradition for us on the day of arrival.
May be an image of nature, sky, twilight and palm trees

Welcome Home!!

You do have great timing, Kauai and Niihau are the only 2 islands not under a flood warning.

Enjoy your time at your Hale. shaka

Where's the picture of the cheeseburger?

They both disappeared too fast for a cell phone camera to capture them.

I'm sure you'll be able to squeeze another Mau Tai in during your trip. :D

Had one I made myself after returning from Safeway. That one also disappeared too fast for a photo. Yummmm.

You'll get the hang of this yet. :D
Drinks always seem to evaporate fast here in Hawaii. shaka

We also know P@P as our home away from home. Goes back to our first visit to Kauai'i, when were sold on timesharing. We learned about the resale market, and investigated Kauai Beach Villas, Lawai Beach Club, and Point at Poipu. We loved Point at Poipu because it felt more like a home than a resort. Logically, because the original site planning was for the property to be residential instead of resort.

It's not fancy but it just feels homey to us. Our reaction at the time was that this was a place we could see coming back to regularly, and having multi-generation family vacations there. Which is exactly how it has played out. When family joins us, we have two units close to each other, and we just flow into the two units. We take most of our meals together as a family, divvying up food preparation.

I met John (forgot his last name) who started here as a concierge many years ago. He said renovations probably won't begin until September. The kitchens and bathrooms certainly need it, but the grounds are still amazing. Perfect weather today.

Hope the south shore is not experiencing the wind and rain that started on the north at about 10 last night. Not even the Nene look happy. I am glad I have some work I can accomplish in our room.

I am looking forward to staying there for the first time early this summer. Too bad the renovations aren't complete. But it is still Kauai after all. And we have an OF unit.

Cloudy and windy with some occasional rain in Poipu. It was fine in the hot tub.
It wasn't bad enough to keep me from getting more pictures.

The rain didn't seem to interfere with the albatross mating dance. We enjoyed watching them from our lanai.

Beautiful shots Art!! shaka

Here's a tip. If you get to Spouting Horn and it's raining too hard to get out of the car, you can watch it from the Kukuiula Small Boat Harbor. It was spouting good today!

Looks like better weather today.

My wife is very happy, first time we have seen the sun in 4 days here. Looks to be a beautiful day. shaka
At times we had some torrential downpours yesterday, but it cleared up shortly before we left for dinner. Tidepools is currently our favorite restaurant on the south side. We like the ambiance, service, and of course the food.

We have only been there once. It was one of our anniversaries. We loved it. Like you said, good all the way around.

Today started with a great sunrise, and stayed nice all day long.

Glad to see you getting some nice weather. It definitely makes the long trip worth it. shaka

Art - I'm jealous and you're making me homesick. We won't be back this year until October.
