While The Hanford Site is certainly historically important, I think I would choose another location in Washington State.

"In 2007, the Hanford site represented two-thirds of the nation's high-level radioactive waste by volume. Hanford is currently the most contaminated nuclear site in the United States."

I agree that there are MANY more interesting places to visit in Washington State than ONLY the Hanford site. At the very minimum, standing at the foot of the Space Needle and looking straight up at the one-of-a-kind view is pretty dang amazing!

Totally agree. As science sites I would easily place Mt. St. Helens and Dry Falls ahead of Hanford. If nuclear is of interest, the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory is next to Craters of the Moon, and is equally significant (though less well known).

The map shows two sites in Ohio, but there is only one listed. Odd that they selected Spring Grove Cemetery. While it is a beautiful and there are some notable people buried there, it wouldn't be any more than any other large cemetery in America. It certainly isn't the best Ohio site. There are many others.

Agree. I grew up close to Spring Grove and actually rode toboggans down one of the major hills there. I would have picked Fort Ancient / Serpent Mound or the USAF Museum if this was to be a "scientific" road trip.

This is certainly a good starting point though for sure. Obviously more or different stops could be added, and I'm sure distance is probably somehow taken into account in the algorithm. Definitely worth a look though.
