At a gathering this weekend, a friend asked me what happened to their reservations. They had 3 reservations for a beach trip with family. I told them that they needed a guest certificate on the third reservation because they were only allowed 2 reservations with their names on it. They said it didn't look like a problem when they booked these units and a month or sooner before the travel date one of the reservations was gone.

Does anyone know how long you can keep the reservation in your name before the system kicks it out ?

Bill

Just having 2 names on the Ownership is not enough. You have to place each Owner's name on separate Reservations. While making online reservations the system will default to the name listed first on the Ownership. During the online reservation system one of the screens allows you to list the name for the reservation. It use to be you had 24-72 hours to list the Guest Name. But I have heard of situations in which 1 or more of the Reservations was cancelled within a few hours with no warning.

We regularly have 2 reservations for the same week. One with my name and one with my wife's name. Never had a problem.

So I'm thinking you are saying the guest certificates needs to added when you make the reservation.

As was noted, you shouldn't have an issue since they are in two different names. The issue is with the third reservation if there are only two owners on the ownership. You would then have another reservation in the same name as one of the other owners and it would be cancelled if the guest name is not changed with the purchase of a guest certificate. If you have three owners on an ownership, then technically you can have three concurrent reservations without an issue. As long as each has a different guest name.

I'm thinking this rule is per account. So with multiple accounts I can use our two names on each account for the same weeks until I decide if I need to add a guest certificate. Account 1 would be 2 reservations, account 2 would be 2 reservations .................. Crapola, I hadn't thought of this and I did combine a couple of our accounts to reduce the mf.

I have two accounts: one is name A and B, one is name A and C, I thought I can only use these for 3 reservation names, name A, B and C. ??
I thought even I can pass the reservation part, when I check in, name A will have problem check in both units.??

What we did for many years to take a group of our large family was to make 3 to 4 reservations for the same week using two of our accounts. On the first account there would a reservation in my name and my wife's name. On the second account we would do the same thing. We would have a total of 3 to 4 reservations for the same week.

You must have two accounts with a spouse and kiddo on one of them ?

Bill

yes, one for my husband and me. the other for my daughter and me. so we can check in 4 units without problem?
