I bought a Sears Craftsman Husqvarna lawn tractor about 15 to 16 years ago to mow just over an acre to keep the weeds down and for the kids to play and exercise. Over the years I have Micky Moused this mower to keep it running. The transmission lost reverse maybe 6 years ago so I try hard not to need reverse. Yesterday the lawn tractor seized up. I started pulling it apart just enough to not make a mess and think I lost the connecting rod or cam shaft compression release because I can hear something klunking when I try to spin the engine.

I then thought time for a new mower. I couldn't believe how much these cost now days. Especially anything Husqvarna. I went to Lowes and Home Depot and all I saw was junkers. I then Google lawn tractors and Tractor Supply had Husqvarna and the Cub Cadet with the Kawasaki twin engine. I decided on the Cub Cadet and because it was the last one in stock to just buy it online. Then I went to Tractor Supply to pick it up. A guy that wanted this machine yesterday, but didn't buy it, showed up to buy the machine I had already bought online. A worker came out with this yesterday guy as the online order guy and I were getting ready to load this.

Because I had already paid for the lawn tractor it was mine. The online order guy and the other worker were talking and the online order guy asked the yesterday guy why he didn't come in earlier. The yesterday guy said he took a nap. I just couldn't help myself and said " sometimes when you snooze you lose". We all had a good laugh. The yesterday guy decided to order one that will get here by Tuesday.

I'm happy to now have reverse again. For the last 6 years I've been too lazy to fix the transmission so I have had to use the floor jack to pull it out of the shop which isn't too much trouble. Less work than fixing the transmission.

I read the manual and will be finishing the mowing this morning. I have a new toy to try out. :)
