Hey to a fellow Kentuckian!

The distilleries are great fun. If you only have time for one tour, do the Maker's Mark distillery. I think it is one of the best. The Jack Daniels distillery is my next favorite, but that is in Tennessee.

Good to Hear...

Several of my wife's family live in Adair County and we visit that way sometimes.
Good to hear from Somerset.

Bourbon Trail - 8/30/08

Just back from our weekend trip to Kentucky's Bourbon trail. On Saturday we did Wild Turkey, which wasn't in production and only provided a tour of the grounds. Then went to Maker's Mark - - a second visit for us and still a pleaser. They've added a nice gift shop and tasting area since our last visit in May07. Then did Heaven Hill to close the day. It was a great day!

p.s. I should let folks know that a lot of the distilleries shut down production for some part of the summer. Four Roses was completely closed. You may want to call ahead if seeing them in full production is important to you.

In three weeks is the Bourbon Festival which everyone locally is promoting as THE TIME to be in bourbon country!!
