Okay, so we checked into Surfwatch last night. This morning I went to Publix for some groceries and upon return to the resort found no shopping carts. I know they are there because we used them last night after a Walmart trip. Walmart didn't have eggs and a few other things which warranted the Publix run. Anyway, with no grocery carts at the foot of the elevator I instead take a luggage cart. I don't usually like using them because they are often disgusting (they really could steam clean the carpet on them at least once a month) but I did find one that looked new. After loading up my cart with the groceries (think jugs of water, no carrying them), I head to the elevator. When the door opens sitting there is a shopping cart. No human pushing it. They literally just shoved it into the elevator. Common now, please return your luggage and grocery carts to the ground floor. If this was you and you are reading, shame on you. Rant over, now to check out the resort after cooking a breakfast/lunch.

I really like Surfwatch; we had a yuuuuge three bedroom over spring break there in March 2019. Good times, good times. We were not in the building on the ocean side of the marsh, but we were in the next closest building, directly looking onto the marsh with the ocean beyond. I thought it was pretty sweet for an II trade. :)

We also love SurfWatch, I agreed with the OP, guests need to returned their cart to the cart luggage area for other guest to use.
His post was right on point, just common sense IMHO.

So...did you transfer your groceries to the grocery cart, or did you remove the grocery cart from the elevator and continue on using the luggage cart. I want to evaluate the level of your pissedoffedness based on your actions after the elevator door opened. Also curious to know what choice words you used when the elevator door first opened. Am really hoping for a video about this on your YouTube channel. ;-)

And how is a young guy like you getting so much vacation time. Seems you are always at an MVC resort.

I've been to quite a few properties the last few years that had basket type carts or similar but they always had a very limited number and often we're available. This includes Aruba, Grande Ocean, Ocean Pointe and Crystal Shores specifically.

That's one of the better ones I've heard about. Plenty of carts left outside of the room, at the elevator, in the parking lots, but not in the elevator.

I have a similar story. It was about 7:30 and I was coming back from my morning walk. As the elevator opens, there is a three or four year old girl in her pajamas who walked right out. I asked her where her parents were and she said, "asleep". There was a Marriott employee right in the parking garage and I had him call the front desk. Believe it or not, she knew her last name and the front desk was able to call the room. The father came down and got her.........at least I hope it was the father.

I did transfer my groceries from the luggage cart to the grocery cart. I know I for sure said "are you kidding me?". There may have been an expletive to describe such a person that pushed the cart into the elevator, but I don't remember exactly what it was now.

Not sure if there will be a video on this one or not.

I love those Surfwatch 3BR’s! DH and I got one a few years ago, and felt ridiculously extravagant with all that space, but it was the only unit available that week.

MAYBE the person who had the grocery cart had a medical emergency, but felt they really wanted to make the cart available to others who might need it, so they shoved it into the elevator on their way out when they were rushed to the hospital? (I would rather make up absurd stories than think people are really that selfish and lazy.)
