I have a 24 hr hold on a 2 br 6/6 for check in on 1/26/08. The reviews are great and Marco Island is beautiful--does anyone know if the construction from the new Marriot timeshares is a problem as far as noise etc? thanx Dawn

That's a great trade that time of year.

Nice trade. I was there in May 2007. Marco is beautiful.

We were there in Dec and it wasn't too bad. Our unit was in the south building which is the furthest away from the construction. The only time we noticed it was the day we spent quite a bit of time at the pool. I would go back in a minute! It is on the top of my list for next Nov.

We just got back on Saturday night. The noise was not a problem. They were working on the Marriott, but the noise was not annoying. We LOVED the property-gorgeous views from very large balconies, great staff, and a warm atmosphere. I hope to post a detailed review down the road. We bought here last year. This was our first stay since purchasing-we are really glad that we bought here!

Noise pollution is a bummer.

We've discussed the traffic, groundskeeping, air conditioner, and other noise of some of the busy Orlando resorts, but you can find it anywhere.

Both our resort last week and this week are beachfront, with nice lanais. Last week we could leave the sliders open and hear the waves crashing on the beach.

The first night at this resort we tried that, but couldn't sleep with the mechanical noise of the midrise condo building next door. So, not only does it block the view, as has already been reported, but it also blocks the sound of the Gulf.

Charter Club of Marco Beach now has a 1 in 4 rule regarding exchanges. This seems to have been instituted sometime within the past year. So if you are using RCI for your exchanges, they won't let you go back until 2011!!

Thanks for the heads up! I have a search going with SFX so I hope that won't apply. Of course I've also been checking RCI so I'll have to remember that.
