The 25 Greatest One-Hit Wonders Of All Time

Arlo Guthrie - City of New Orleans
But not exactly a one-hot wonder. He had another hit that was big enough to be turned in a major motion picture.

Macarthur Park - Richard Harris.

Best served SCTV style:

Seasons in the Sun - Terry Jacks

Brandy is played at lot since it was included in Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack (which rocks by the way).

I watched all of the Guardians of the Galaxy with my grand kids. I think they like classic rock better than what their parents listen to, lol. After these movies my grandson ended up with an electric guitar and after four months can rock 3 chord's.

Seasons in the sun is just too sad for my liking.

Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport.

My Boomerang Won't Come Back.

I remember the mid-80s where a few actors tried their hand at being recording artists:

Bruce Willis "Respect Yourself"
Eddie Murphy "My Girl Wants to Party All the Time"
Patrick Swayze "She's Like the Wind"

Are you thinking of "Alice's Restaurant"?
Yes. And IMO a one-hot wonder is also one-hot for the performer(s). There's one song, and then the performers disappear. Arlo Guthrie has had a long career in music.

That's also why including Joan Baez in that original list is silly. If we followed that type of criteria, then Sarah Vaughan would quality as a one hit wonder for "Broken Hearted Melody".

King Tut.

I want a "condo made of stone-a."
I was watching SNL, half-asleep, when Steve Martin performed King Tut.
I thought, "I must be hallucinating. This is the weirdest damn thing ever."
