We are thinking of a drive to Texas and wonder about some of the timeshares on the East half of Texas. Those around Montgomery, Lake Conroe, Galveston, Willis. None of the review look really good. Any recommendations?

Also what is there to do around the Hourson and Galveston areas this time of year?

You didn't say when you plan to take your trip but on March 3-22 the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show will be going on with different entertainers every night. If you are here at that time it should be a must. Houston also has a nice Theater District, with Houston Symphony, shows and etc. As for Galveston the only attraction that is opened up right now is Moody Gardens and the Opera House down on The Strand just opened this week. Timeshares on Galveston, I think Seaside is the only one open now.
Conroe has several timeshares but the only one I have been to is Piney Shores. Maybe others who have visited other t/s will post.

We are thinking now of driving down in the next 2 weeks before the end of Jan. I am looking at timeshares around Montegomery and Willis on Lake Conroe. Anyone familiar with any of those?

I have stayed at Silverleaf at Piney Shores and the Landing at Seven Coves. Both are on the lake. Piney shores has a minature golf course, swimming pool game room, I think Seven coves has tennis courts.

Neither are fancy but both are clean and pleasant

I have info on Piney Shores if you need to know anything and pics too.

....but I don't see anything available for January.

We are repeat customers for April Sound, small and quiet. Piney Shores is also nice but larger and more activities going on, so you may prefer one over the others. We have also stayed at Walden which was small and dated.
