Tens Device

Pat, that is very encouraging. I feel like my problem can be solved, but the tens unit will keep me from being on my rear in the meantime. It seems to help me a bit.

Yes and its use has led to pain relief. HOWEVER, it's hard to say whether it's the buzzy electrical current or lying still (and presumably relaxing) for 15-20 minutes :)

We got ours quite inexpensively around 15-20 years ago from a chiropractor who used it on me. When I asked how to get one he said he could prescribe one and insurance would be billed hundreds of $, or he could sell me the same thing for $30. I opted to pay the $30. Perhaps now they are more readily available.

They are readily available on line now, and the price is anywhere from $50.00-$100.00. I found mine on E-bay for even less, and it's exactly like the one I had as a loaner from the chiropractor.

I got my tens unit through my insurance after a car accident left me with bulging disks in my neck and a herniated lower back disk.
The medical technician that gave it to me was very courteous and helpful. She did say that in order for it to be effective you need to use it at least 30 minutes at a time, and optimally twice a day.

I previously received tens through my chiropractor and acupuncturist, with limited success. (I only go once a week)

It's a good unit, and probably retails for ~$200, according to the technician.

I'm hoping this will be better. I've already used it a few days, and it seems to help. I work so she suggests putting it on while I"m getting ready for work and again at night.
