Tennessee Timeshare Vacation

I recall going around the town of gatlinberg

It is beyond me that people go to fantastic destinations to go to shops. I always wonder where they live that they can’t go shopping
Such as Berkshires, people go there to go to the little outlet mall.

In general, shopping is at the bottom of my 'things to do on vacation' list. But I'm coming from a metro area that is known for shopping. However, something unique in a vacation area might be of interest. For example there is a 'Made in America' non-chain shop in Branson that was interesting and it was fun to talk with the owner. Local craft fairs can also be enjoyable.

The best timeshare resort in Tennessee is Fairfield Glades. IMHO.

I prefer BG mountain loft as its up in the hills with amazing mountain views with most of the units balconies and close to Gatlinburg and the smokey mountains NP. BG laurel crest and Mills Spring lodge is convenient to Pigeon Forge, Has nice mountain views from some higher up units and great pool views from the newer Mills Spring lodge pool. If Pigeon forge and all the touristy things are your preference, then BG Laurel Crest/ Mills Spring is a good location and choice.

Should also note that The Glades is an interesting area near Gatlinburg to visit if you enjoy local artisans and their crafts.

I've been to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg once, but stayed in a hotel, since we were only there for 3 nights. Want to go back with my partner as he has never been. But we want to go in December to see the Christmas decorations at Dollywood. Just the two of us old folks :)
I was thinking of Mountain Loft, but wasn't sure what the weather/roads were like in December.

The best timeshare in Tennessee is Wyndham Fairfield Glades. Please Google for more information on The Glades.

I think that us on the rumored to be closed list

It depends on where/what you want to do while there. My favorite is Bent Creek. I can get to it without driving through Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg traffic. You can also take the back roads over to Dollywood and bypass the majority of the traffic. My parents own a week in one of the cabins, so we have a private hot tub and grill on the back porch. I own at Gatlinburg Town Square. It is a nice place to stay if your focus is Gatlinburg because you can walk to everything. If you're interested in the National Park, the Westgate is directly across the street from the visitor center.

So excited to hear this
I’m staying at bent for the first time this October
I would love info on what to request etc?
I traded through RCI for it, it looks amazing

October is a lovely time to visit this area. We usually stay in one of the cabins, so our only room request is not to get the accessible cabin. The bed heights and mattresses are uncomfortable for my parents (77) and they don't need them. As for the other units...there aren't any elevators, so you might want to ask for a unit with no/few stairs if your luggage is heavy or you have mobility issues. One of the buildings has several steps down to the 1st floor, so make sure you make your request based on "few stairs" rather than "bottom/lower floor". It has been so long since I've stayed in the other units, I don't know if one building has been refurbished sooner or not. I think Hilton is probably doing a little makeover on everything since they took it over. Other than that, I would base any requests on whether you have kids and want to be near the playground/pool. It is a small resort, so everything is relatively close anyway.

I hope you have fun!!

Just returned from 2 nights hotel stay in P.F.
Went to Dolly Parton's Stampede- very enjoyable. We got there for the 5pm pre-show opening and had difficulty finding parking since the 3pm show was leaving then. Don't recommend rushing to get there for this- it takes place in a large room with a raised stage, where a trio performed for @20 minutes. There were not enough seats for all. Drink prices are quite high. Just before 6 we were led into the huge arena for the show. Dinner was a small chicken, creamy vegetable soup, mashed potatoes, small corn on the cob and a small portion of bbq pork. Choice of a chocolate dessert or apple turnover.
Dollywood the next day. We opted to visit here because my sis and her adult kids were here from Portland OR and this was a chance to be with them; however, they wanted to ride some coasters so we only were with them for the train ride and bubble show. It was an expensive day, but worth the $ and braving the heat/humidity. The exhibits on Dolly are air-conditioned as was the theatre for the bubble show. We had lunch at the Front Porch (even though wait-service, felt like dining in a cafeteria to me) and picked up a loaf of the famous cinnamon bread for another day (yum).
I recommend parking at Pigeon Forge's Transfer station to catch the shuttle from there to Dollywood. $3 buys a day pass for all Pigeon Forge Trolleys. Parking at Dollywood is $20 so do the math.

It’s interesting to see such varied opinions of the Gatlinburg area. I took my husband to Dollywood near Thanksgiving especially to see the decorations. Seeing the look on his face when we entered, I knew immediately it was a mistake. Hordes of people and he just didn’t care for the glitze.

However, the national park and a show we went to, a Motown review, were enjoyed by us both. We saw bears in the park and loved the history of it.

Gatlinburg was packed with cars and we enjoyed getting out of there.

I feel I wasted a day of our trip by going to Dollywood

would the week after thanksgiving be a good time to go?

Tree Tops Gatlinburg is a great resort, but it can be difficult to exchange into. Trades with both II and RCI.

Your chances are better if you avoid summer, holidays and leaf peeping time.

Weather is a bit unpredictable but it's a decent time to visit the National Park.

Avoid Thanksgiving week. It is a nightmare in Pigeon Forge.
