trading info

I believe what they're telling you is that you'll get an Accommodation Certificate if you deposit Ocean Watch. You can't see what's fully available to use with the AC for 60 days prior - but you'll still have your OW week that can be traded.

The AC is a bonus week - don't focus on that but rather on your OW deposit. I just modeled trading my OW week for a hypothetical August 14, 2009, deposit (which if I calculated correctly is week 33 - great week to trade!). MNC and STG came up - both in southern Utah - don't know if that's what you want or not. But you can always put in your request for the resorts and dates you want to go and wait until someone deposits one.

You can model what's in the inventory right now (not already claimed by an exchange) by going to II's site, do an exchange and put in a fake 8-digit number as your reservation number, starting with 8 (e.g., 81234567). Put in the deposit date you have for OW. Or use your real reservation number that Marriott gave you, just be careful not to go too far and book something you don't want! If you like what you see, book it online.

Hope this helps.

Most people do not think exchanging for a cruise is a good value, because in addition to depositing your TS and paying the exchange fee, you will have an additional large payment to the cruise company. Be sure you know what all the fees are before you commit. You can usually book a discounted cruise for close to the same cost and keep your timeshare week.

I am going to mover your post to the Marriott board where you will get expert help!

Uh....

I'm guessing the OP is seeking an exchange into the Royal Caribbean resort in Cancun, not the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.

What you were told is true. Bonus weeks, obtained with the Accommodation Certificate ("AC") you will get if you deposit your week, are rarely available in high demand periods. See this link for more info about ACs.

During the last 59 (not 60) days before you want to travel, you'll be able to confirm almost any week in II's system with your AC. The caution there is that most of the best weeks have long since been taken by the time you get to those last 59 days. But, as many have reported here, there are occasionally some real gems available!

Dave thanks for the link good info . still dont know what I am going to do.

It's really quite simple. If you are not going to Ocean Watch next August, then go ahead and deposit your week now. You will get maxium trading power by not waiting. Also, II may offer AC's one month and not the next. If you wait to long to deposit II may say. "Sorry Charlie - no AC."
