I recently attended a meeting of the Tahoe Seasons Resort Remodel Committee.
The meeting was called to review the latest cosmetic upgrade proposed by the consultant, and to recommend to the Board a plan of action.

I have decided to create and moderate a Yahoo Groups group to share ideas and information about Tahoe Seasons Resort. I have created tsr_group at Yahoo Groups primarily for the owners, but will allow participation to non-owners, since many VRI members and TUG members may have stayed at Tahoe Seasons Resort and may want to contribute. There is also a fair amount of units available for sale on e-bay for this resort, and I would hope that future owners may seek information before purchasing.

Thanks,
Jake

Just a quick FYI

Tahoe seasons has sold some of their weeks to Monarch Grand Vacations MGV. Because of this, any owner at Tahoe Seasons may be able convert their deeded ownership to MGV points for a fee of $2000. ( as many weeks as they want). They then can use their MGV points to stay at any of the 9 MGV resorts in the Califorina area ( LV & Utah too)

For owners who don't want to pay the SA and want use of their TS, this may be a good option for them.

Bill:
Did you verify this information with Monarch Grand Vacations? Do you have a contact at Monarch that can verify this? Do you know of any owners that have done this?
My information is that if you purchase new points from Monarch, you can pay $2000 to convert other resorts that Monarch has an interest in, and they would convert the non-Monarch purchased unit to Monarch points. However, this is not available for Tahoe Seasons Resort.

Thanks,
Jake

No I didn't verify this. But, currently any owner at the Monarch developed resorts (before MGV) can convert to MGV for the $2000 fee. I then asked about an owner at Desert Isle (a non MGV developed resort) and was told that they also can convert their deeded week to MGV if they pay the $2000 fee. I just assumed this was also true of the Tahoe Seasons resort, but I didn't verify this info.

At the Tahoe Seasons Resort Remodel Committee meeting there was a representative from Monarch Owner Services. I asked him about the possibility of converting to MGV points. He indicated that they would not allow this conversion at this time because of the uncertainty of the future costs associated with Tahoe Seasons Resort. Of course, the sales people may be on a different page, so I am looking for first-hand information about the conversion.

The first time attendance of the senior person from MGV at this committee meeting was certainly a step forward to getting MGV owners input into Tahoe Seasons Resort future.

Is there a Yahoo Group or other platform where MGV owners share information about the resorts?

Thanks,
Jake

Not that I'm aware of.

Sorry.

Most people with MGV questions, ask in the points board here on TUG and there are 2 or 3 of us who generally answer.
