IPads are the Cadillacs of tablets, but at Cadillac prices.
I agree with Jim on the Kindle Fire. I bought my first one when they first came out a few years ago and got another one a few months ago. My wife uses my older one now. I use it for all the things that Jim listed plus I have the office app on it. The display is very clear and bright.
Thanx all for the responses, ideas, and comments. I already have a kindle, and have considered getting her one, but she is a technophobe. That means if anything with an on/off button has a glitch, she calls me. However, since we are both retired now, it's much easier for me to answer those calls.
So I am leaning towards the fire HD, but there is still plenty of time before Christmas, so I am still willing to consider other suggestions.
Thanx again,
Ron
Exactly. That is the problem with all of Apple's products.
Good point, except for the fact that similar software exists for Android as well.Apple cost more because of the software it offers, like Find Friends, find my iPad, keychain, etc.... Like I said earlier, most people don't use it. So for the average user that wants to pay less, go with an Android tablet. I like the newer Samsung tablets and 10 inch is the best size around the house.
I ordered 2 Fires this morning on Amazon and the expected delivery date was 12/22! We are leaving for a short vacation on 12/23. My husband and son went to Best Buy and they have lots of them there for the same price so they picked up 2 and I cancelled my Amazon order. I did order cases on Amazon, though, that were in the $10-$15 range. I don't think I will mind the special offers. I have them on my paper white, and they only show in the locked screen. Don;t know how the set up is on Fire, but I assume it is the same. I intend to keep my paper white for reading books and use Fired for internet.
Amazon has their Kindle Fire on a Black Friday special for $35. It's a small 7" screen though and availability may be limited, plus it's last year's model. That's a good price to get her started (for $35 - regularly $50). That will do Skype.
I can't believe that's included in the price to:whoopie:Jeff-My husband wants to know about the "breast feature"..... My product doesn't seem to have that....
