Anyone using one of these? We checked our pool (spring is approaching) and found our water level had dropped dramatically. Our liner is 14 years old and we knew it was coming.
Anyway one guy came out to give us an estimate and mentioned he uses an ionizer on his pool and really liked it. No pressure sell just mentioned it.

So my question is if you have one do you feel the cost saving on chemicals is worth the cost initially for the ionizer? I have read good things and haven't found anything bad about it. Thanks

Is this the same as an 'ozoneizer'? We have one of these in our spa, and literally use no chlorine/bromine. We do shock the water every couple of weeks, or as needed. It sure is nice to not smell of chlorine after using the spa and not buying chlorine is a plus. This system has worked flawlessly year round for 9 years with no problems with water or mechanicals.

If I'm off base on the ionizer, I apologize. Others, especially those with pools in warmer climes surely know more about water chemistry than I do.

I believe the OP means an ionizer that releases copper or silver ions into the water. I have something similar in my spa (Nature2 cartridge), as well as an ozonator.

We had one installed when our pool was built last August. It seems to work well. This winter we just put one clorine tablet in the basket each week and everything is just fine. Our pool is not heated, so we have not been in it since October, but I do like that it does not smell like clorine all the time.

We are undecided about installing one of these. The cartridge is not cheap but if the trade off is not using lots of chlorine then...........it might be beneficial.
