Hello:

We are staying at SVR starting next Saturday. I was reading a review online and it said something about receiving free breakfast for the week if you forego housekeeping? Does anyone know if that is true? Has anyone done it? How is the breakfast?

Thanks!

I can't imagine there is any validity to this nor have I heard of it for a timeshare reservation. There is only 1 housekeeping and it is mid week and I can't imagine they give you free breakfast in exchange for giving up that mid-week housekeeping. I know SPG Plats get breakfast as an amenity but that usually is not available at a timeshare property. Also there is Make a Green Choice for points, but that only applies to hotel reservations.

I think this is an option if you are a staying as a hotel guest where your rate includes nightly housekeeping, but as mentioned above, I don't think this is the same for ownership weeks considering there is only one housekeeping service for the week.

Ahhhh.... That makes more sense. I was thinking that would be a hell of a deal! Give up one visit from housekeeping for a week of breakfast?!?! Would have been a no brainer.

What did the resort say when you asked them about it?

We stayed as a hotel guest for a few nights last Christmas, and yes, as a hotel guest you are offered this. Unfortunately, not as a timeshare guest -- but great idea to forego a mid-week tidy. We would totally take the free breakfast instead of the tidy

We stayed at SVV back in February, and told them we didn't want the mid-week housekeeping. They offered outer option of $15 to spend onsite or 5,000 hotel points.

Did you mean 500 hotel points? That's what they offer at hotels

There is no way it could be 5000 SPG points. With a valuation of roughly 2 cents per point that's like them giving you $100 to not do housekeeping. It would be a losing proposition on the part of the property. I can see it being 500 points and that's usually the amount of points given for each night of "Make a Green Choice."
