Thanks - I just emailed our WSJ warranty deed to the email address.
the main 800 number will get you to the Association Management - Jose was busy, but the person who answered was helpful.

The property was transferred in less than one hour! That must be some kind of record!

Wow - Jose rocks! ( I emailed him directly after I got an OOO reply from SVO Title changes). They should make Jose VP of something - oh sorry - I forgot - being efficient is no way to get ahead at SVO... LOL (sadly)

An hour? A record? Not even close. I posted a couple weeks ago hat Jose did my SDO a few minutes after getting my email.:D

it coulda been minutes... lol

I just checked MyStarCentral - and the unit-week is listed there also - double WOW!

I had the same experience with Jose Pagan - very quick, very friendly service in getting the ownership records changed.

I was having trouble getting my Kierland purchase closed. So, I found my recorded deed on the Maricopa County site, paid for and printed a copy and called title services myself. Within an hour after faxing Jose the copy of the deed, the StarOptions were in my acount (and he emailed me that everything was done). I was appreciative, but a little surprised because I had heard to expect problems with Starwood transferring title.

I think sometimes when transfer/escrow companies are really slow but insist on dealing with Starwood's title services themselves, it's just a dodge to push blame for their delay off on Starwood.

Jose should be a "go to" guy for all Tuggers. ... eom

I just got off the phone from SVO Elites services - wanted to get the week 23 reservation for 2009 at WSJ put into our names. SVO/SVN reserved our 2010 weeks for us while I was on the line - that is 17 months away. Of course - when I got the 2010 email reservation - week 23 was still in the previous owners' name - yet the week 23 for 2009 was in our name. Oh well - I guess I was expecting too much of their database/software (silly me) - they also said that we had only 81K SOs left for 2010 (...wrong...).

BTW - for folks reading this - I just cancelled our 3/14 - 3/21 stay at WKV (going to use that week for a stay at WKORV in October via a SVN exchange) - so if anyone is looking for a good week at WKV - one just became open.

I can also report excellent service from Starwood Title. Our purchase was also at WKV and after verifying our ownership at the Maricopa County web site, the transfer was completed immediately. We already had an SVO account and owned a previous week at WKV, and I was very careful to make sure the new week was titled exactly the same as the first week. Outstanding service from Starwood after my closing service seemed to drop the ball.

SVO computers have tough time with resale info

DavidnRobin--
We purchased several WSJ resales and SVO always seems to have the wrong email addresses from previous owners, and frequently send the reservations to the wrong emails. Keep an eye on them. We have had at least 10 erroneous confirmation sheets sent to previous owners, previous owners' guests, or even previous guests of ours of different weeks.. If you ever book a reservation (on a resale) and are wondering where it might be, it might have gone to someone earlier in the pipeline. I guess maybe it's best to have SVO delete the old email addresses from the file, if possible.

Hmmm...somehow I missed this thread yesterday.

I will belatedly chime in here, Jose is the best. We have dealt with him for all our resales, always on top of things, very responsive.

As far as Staroptions, on MSC our Staroption balances are never correct. When we had just one unit, everything was fine but with multiple weeks...nada. Also, this past year, every time I call I am told I have 100k Staroptions left. I tell them no, I have used them all. Then I have them check all my reservations to make sure nothing has been canceled. Then they manually have to add everything up by hand to get the correct total....every time I call. Good thing my Robin keeps terrific records!

OT - Why is it so hard to have a account history of our reservations on MSC?

Jose is really the best!

I got some weeks registered by him.

If he has a clear inbox (which he often has due to his efficient work), I would guess he needs about 20 minutes per deed.

I once sent him three deeds via eMail and got replies 20,40, 60 minutes after sending them....

I called SVN a bunch of times when our Staroptions weren't right. Sometimes our mandatory resale would show up, sometimes our developer would show up. When I called to ask why that was happening (I called with my best "I don't have a clue about what's going on here so I'm confused" voice :) ), they said their IT people had to "fix something" and it would take a day or so to process. It took another call for it to get fixed (maybe other IT people needed to get involved) and then *poof* my resale and developer options showed up together!

It's true, though, that they have to pull options from various properties individually to make a reservation. For my Maui reservation I needed options from 3 resorts and the person doing the reservation had to go into each one to take out the options. Fixing this (and an history of our reservations available online) would be what my company calls "business requirements" for the NEW RESERVATION SYSTEM!

Please remember that Jose's role at SVO is for registering and transfering SVO Titles.

I have a non-SVO title that is currently being recorded for SMV.

Is Jose not the guy to send it to when I get it back from the recorder????
Does he really handle ONLY SVO?

Thanks

Yes! I second and third the praise. He is awesome. He recorded my most recent WMH purchase in about 10 minutes too! I could not believe it.

He is the best of Starwood, that is for sure! I thanked him profusely in a reply email but maybe I should write a letter to the suits. :cheer:

Not sure what you mean. SMV is under Starwood so if you want it put in your name, he is your man. He only hadles Starwood properties that have already been recorded by their appropriate county recorder in your name. He will put your info into the Starwood database so that you are recognized as the new owner (of resale properties only) and you can make reservations.

It doesn't matter if the unit is in the SVN or not. After the county records the deed, the title must be changed with Starwood and the title office is the place where that is done for all Starwood timeshares.
