The lucky candidate who fills this dream job will have the keys to the "customer compensation" closet, "including but not limited to Starpoint and bulk bank week deposits, customer reimbursement, resort amenities, and miscellaneous goodwill gestures provided by [the] Consumer Affairs Department."

I'm just impressed that someone at SVO knows that the term "goodwill" exists.

A Certificate from a Paralegal Studies program is a plus.

I begrudge no company profits but this even the title lacks the name "consumer" and "service" in the same phrase.

Sounds like "we need someone to work with legal and risk mgmt and anyone else just to coordinate the COVERING OF OUR A**ES."

Maybe if you had stressed the SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION from the start they would have less customer complaints which have financial or legal liability and impact. and this position would be UNNECESSARY!?!?!?

In fairness to Starwood, acceptance of responsibility for service issues can have legal ramifications so getting an individual that understands the tightrope that must be walked in solving these issues is important. I am a critic of the way they do things but having the right person in this type of position should be a win-win for both the company and us.

If you're dealing with a group of people that are still playing the “Theme from Rocky” and calling their customers “one leggers,” you've got to schmultz-up the alternative view pitch a bit to get through to ‘em. nodge, I loved your video comparison I actually work at HQ for a family owned grocery store that does this kind of thing. When I shop at one of our stores, I see it. If I look a little lost of confused looking for something, there is someone to help me in minutes. I work in a store atleast once a year and love it becuase the customers notice your 'new' and talk to you. Great fun.

Very strange, with all the technology behind the I-Phone and its ability to run third-party applications, one would think that it would able to be programmed to include ANNUAL MAINTENANCE FEES in a "Rent vs. Own" comparison.

I wonder if it plays that groovy music while it's "adding credibility?"

This is hilarious! Of course, it's soooo easy to develop an app for the iPhone, I shouldn't be surprised this was written.

If this was written for the consumer, the MFs would be included, but it's for the salesperson... I'd get it written if there was demand for it. You think people would buy an iPhone app for timeshares comparisons? Or... reviews? Resale prices? Doubt it. Redweek.com should make one, tho.

I never really thought about the corporate lurkers. Well if they are out there I hope they take our discussions to heart and not to close loopholes. Makes me wish we had an anonymous flame page where they could check which employees should be getting retraining or a pink slip!
