Surfwatch--Fishing Advice Needed

We will be staying in garden view unit and are interested in fishing. I can bring rods, reels, and tackle. No one at the resort seems to know much about fishing particulars. Someone read a list of the fish there and they ranged from bream to bass to mullet to eels. Any Tuggers who have fished the ponds/lagoons? What do you recommend bringing and what is typically caught? Fish have any size? Thanks for any help you can give.

We thought fishing was great. There is a list of fish at the front desk.

We had great luck with hot dog pieces and a bobber. Had lots of fun and very convenient. I would expect mostly pan fish catch and release.

Nice size bass. Note - it is catch and release. You may rent rods, reels, and tackle from Surfwatch.

Thanks for the info as that is very helpful. Hopefully my five year old grandson won't get a hold of an eel.

If you haven't gone yet...

Some bass and pan fish in the pond there. Saw a huge (but dead) carp on the way out of SW last week. If you want to venture down the road to Jarvis Creek Park, they have some bass in there as well as an alligator the last time I fished it.
