I guess I haven’t booked a sunset cruise lately… It’s $247 pp. through Marriott, and a similar price through Viator! We are a group of 7, so this would be expensive! Has anyone taken this? Worth it?
Thanks.

Moderator, sorry, could you move this to the Hawaii forum?

Do you know what the underlying company is? Then you could look up reviews, and there may be Tuggers who have personal experience with the company.

We did Captain Andy's a year or two back and really enjoyed it. Not sure who MVC is aligned with.

Not sure of all options on Kauai, on some islands you can choose between a sunset sail with different options such as a plated meal served to your seat, some are more of a self service buffet, and others are more just drinks and light appetizers. The plated meals are nice, but the most expensive. The "booze cruise" with just drinks and snacks less expensive. On Kauai we have only done the the full service meals. Unfortunately I don't recall the cost last time we did that, though it was just my wife and I. Planning for seven is definitely more challenging.

Are you paying for everyone?

Yes, we’re celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and we can afford it more than them.

Congratulations on your anniversary. I would probably do similar. Sunset sail sounds like a great way to celebrate.

My wife did a Captain Andys from Port Allen and had a good time.

Another vote for Captain Andy's, though it has been a while since I've been to Kauai.

Note that the sails don't operate year round. The seas are too rough in the wintertime. I don't know which months they shut down.

We’ve used Holo Holo in the past.

They were great but be warned, the NaPali waters can get pretty rough.

Often they go south instead of to NaPali during winter. They don't tell you until departure since they look at weather day of show.
Capt Andy's we have enjoyed.

Once we were signed up for an Napal'i Sail. Shortly before Boarding they announced the weather had changed and they would not be Sailing the Napal'i Coast. We were given 3 choices:

1. Get our money back.
2. Reschedule to another day.
3. Take the Cruise but it would be sailing towards Lihu'e and back.

We chose the 3rd option. Mistake. Should have just taken the Refund.
