Are there any sunset cove owners out there who just own the deeded week and it is not part of the club points system? When you call in to reserve your week can you reserve any week in your float season or does it have to be your specific week?

I used to have a desert club week which I had converted to points. But for the short time I had it before I converted it to points I remember them saying I could get any week in my float season. Can anyone verify if it works this way for sunset cove or maybe any other non points weeks that people own?

I know that the deed is for a specific week. But when we had our deed for las vegas, which was for a specific week, we could still book different weeks that were in the "float" period of the HIVC points chart if that makes sense. Even though that deed was not part of the club. Does anyone who owns a deeded week at sunset cove have any experience with this.

I would think that anything you buy directly from HICV as the developer would automatically be available as point in order to do that type of booking. You should get hicv signature points on January 1st of current use year if you did not request home access/resort access, and still be able to book next year's deeded week with resort access/home access starting 13 month out.

Basically, if you own a deeded week in the HICV club they become points on January 1st. I own both, deeded units that are inside the club, and deeded units that are not inside the club. The ones not inside the club, do not get hicv points, and are either fixed week at the deeded resort, or is a float week that you can book at the deeded resort only on the season that it is deeded.

Hope this helps and that I am not confusing you.

Some resorts sell fixed weeks and some sell float weeks. Vegas is a float week. They put a week for deeded purposes but it still floats. Sunset cove was sold as true deeded weeks. The only way to reserve a different week if you aren't part of the points system is to deposit the unit and exchange through RCI. There are many fixed week resorts that are a part of HICV for example Orange Lake is fixed week and there are others that float. Just because some deeds were originally sold as float doesn't mean that feature would extend to all Holiday Inn managed resorts.
