I'm not sure what this one is all about. Just wondering if anyone else was ever contacted by this group. They are out of Dallas, TX. I got a phone call from a Mike Williams saying he may have a buyer for my Silver lake Resort. I listened to what he had to say. He said it would be done by a Quit Claim Deed. Today he sent over a "Property Resell Contract", with two buyers signature whom supposedly put down $3285, and will lose it if the back out.
I would have to pay $400 for Recording fees and $249 legal fees. Has anyone heard of this one before. I keep seeing the advise of not putting monies up front, so not sure what to believe with this group. Website:<link deleted - we don't want to advertise for upfront fee companies> but couldn't find anything at bbb.org.

You keep asking the same questions about upfront fee companies, and the answer is always going to be the same:

NEVER PAY AN UPFRONT FEE - PERIOD!

REPUTABLE brokers take all fees out of the proceeds of the sale - AFTER the sale.

Anyone who charges you a large upfront fee - is only in it for the upfront fees - period.

This has to be a scam. I got a similar call. I checked the website out on whois and it just started in September. Red Flag #1. Quit Claim Deed is Red Flag # 2 which enables them to take access to your unit. Red Flag # 3 is the up front cost. Red Flag # 4 is there is no BBB history. Red Flag #5 is under reverse address the location is registered to 2 other people and not a company ie. John Ford or George Wilson.

NO ONE who cold calls you with an offer to rent or sell your timeshare is legit. The solution to your timeshare problems is not going to come over the phone. You will have to sell or give it away yourself.

The resale market is flooded with cheap or free timeshares. No one is going to contact an obscure company with an offer to overpay for a timeshare if the company can find them a seller.

This is a total scam.
