I won an ebay auction for a unit at Summer Bay Vegas and was wondering a couple things.

What is the time frame for being able to transfer the deed to the Desert Club?

Does anyone have any experience with Summit Title or First American Title?

Anything about this resort to watch out for as far as closing?

Thanks for your help.:D

I dont have any personal experience with them but I believe First American did a lot deeds/transfers for the resort. I would contact IMI Partners (the folks doing the deed exchanges) and ask them the best/most expedient way to do the paperwork. deedexchange@intervalmarketinginc.com of course you are at the mercy of the ebay seller sometimes as to how the closing is handled for more info on the new resort see http://deedexchange.summerbayresort.com/IMI_1342_W1.html
Be advised that IMI Partners is pushing hard to upgrade owners into the RCI poins system, so they may put the hard sell on! but they are first and formost charged with getting all the deeds transfered, so if this interval hasn't been transfered yet they should be in "Helpful" mode. Welcome to SB Desert Club! RT

BTW if somehow you can get the seller's closing company to work with IMI you may be able to get the resort transfer fee absorbed as the deeds and owner info is going to be all new for the new resort? plus it may eliminate some overlap and delays, if the seller does a normal closing and deed recording it will then need to be done again to do the deed transfer to the new property. if you can get everyone on the same page it would be best

RT...thanks for the great info.

Mimi...I purchased a season 2 (May, June, July). It was a Towers 1 BR, so I believe I am upgraded to a 1 BR deluxe at Desert Club. I was originally looking for a Feb, Mar, Apr float, but they have been few and far between and when they do come around, they are quite pricey.

Just happy to be in the door, and yes, I got what I consider to be a great deal.

What is the policy for booking outside of your own season? Do they have the ability to rent from the resort at a reduced cost?

You can book your week outside of your season no more than 45 days before. You can also split your week any way you want...even 7 one-night stays. If you use more than one Friday and Saturday, you'll pay a $25 fee for each extra weekend night that you book. You can also book additional nights at owner rates.

I also recently purchased a week through ebay at Summer Bay. I don't have my deed yet. It is still being processed. Visited the resort last week and got to see the model unit. Very impressive. Got to hear the deal about converting to RCI points, the changing of Koval to a one way street, actually owning a small piece of the proerty, etc. Since I didn't have the deed yet it wasn't a hard sell for the conversion to points just a little information. I am confused about the last post. I thought that if your unit isn't points then it can't be split. You have to use it one full week at a time. I know about the 45 day option to rent outside your assigned weeks but this is the first I heard about splitting the week. Is this true? Hope it is. Would be nice to use it for 3 days and then 4 sometimes.

All of our 2 br units are in Season 1 (Feb, Mar, and April) but we always book April due to the mild weather. We have been in Vegas during a cool and windy March season and had to buy jackets. This year we stayed during April through the beginning of May and the weather was delightful. Even though locals still thought it was chlly, we enjoyed lounging and swimming in the pool. Vegas starts getting too hot (I know it's dry heat) in June and July according to my northeast comfort zone.

I am not in points and just split my week into two separate units for the same time period (a 3-night stay and a 4-night stay). I was told you can split it any way you want.

I wouldn't count on Las Vegas Blvd. and Koval turning into one way streets any time in the foreseeable future. Bad as traffic is at times, the businesses will kick and scream and possibly sue to keep it from happening.

Does anyone know if Desert Club will run a shuttle? And if so, where will it go, Harrah's?

When I went for my tour of the new complex I was told that Harrahs would be running some sort of shuttle service. Most likely right to Harrahs.

Yes, we were told Desert Club will continue running shuttles. SBR currently has shutles to Stratosphere/Circus Circus and Tropicana/Planet Hollywood. Other limited shuttles may be provided on a sign-up basis to Downtown Freemont Street, Ellis Island/Terrible's, Von's grocery and Gold Coast.
