I have taken several vacations this year and have three more planned. I have about 6K points to use. Should I rescue them and have them available next year or can I book a vacation for 2016 using 2015 points? Thoughts?

To book a HGVC property, you would need to rescue your 2015 points before making the 2016 reservation, otherwise the reservation will use your 2016 points.

However, if you book a 2016 RCI reservation, the system will use your 2015 points first.

Hope that helps,
Kurt

To book HGVC for a stay next year, the system draws on that year's points, unless you previously deposited or rescued points ("banked") for use in that year. If you have, it draws those first, then points from the year of your stay. After that, if you're still short of points, the system will borrow points from the following year for you, automatically. But RCI combines current-year and the next two years' points and uses them in chronological order.

I recommend reading "The Rules" cover to cover, 4-5x to get a handle on the system.
