Success chances [Exchanging into Harborside Atlantis]

Now that Shell Vacation Club is using II as their preferred exchange company I have put in my first request and would like opinions as to whether or not this is a long shot.

I am looking for a week at Harborside in Atlantis in any size accomodations (if I get more than a 1 BDRM we will take friends, if not it will be my spouse and I). My request is for anytime between Jan 2 to March 31 in either 2013 OR 2014.

I see lots of stuff going in, but there since it is alwasy Starwood or Mariott preference it seems to never hit the general public. What are the chances I will get my request?

The key with interval is getting past all the resort brand preference periods. Starwood is by far the hardest brand to get good weeks for outsiders. That said shoulder season and off season weeks are pretty easy for most resorts but not this one or other Starwood ski resorts. Shell owners I would think are going to be at a disadvantage in terms of landing Marriott and Starwood and hyatt weeks. Within your own brand you can get some amazing trades but outside your own brand there is a lot of frustration

Your chances are very low - even Starwood owners have a very difficult time with this exchange.

I gather from the responses, that I MIGHT have better luck if I widen my search to anytime year. Including the dreaded "hurricane" season?
