There is a chance that I will be able to take a break as a caregiver for my very ill DH and go to the BVI with my brother and his friend. I am thinking about arriving a day earlier so as not to miss a connection on the sailboat.

If I can pull this off, I am nervous about arriving the same day that the sailing will begin, so I am wanting to arrive a day earlier. I will need one night on St Thomas. Any suggestions for hotels/B&Bs, or how do I contact a timeshare owner at one of the resorts who might be able to rent one night, if this is possible?

I believe Extra Holidays will rent rooms for a single night, and I love the Elysian resort which is right next to Redhook. That would be a great place for a single night. Enjoy trip and sorry to hear about very ill DH...

Best,

Greg

What are your dates? I am leaving Wyn Bluebeards BeachClub one day early on a Friday. The HOA also rents out nights/weeks. I can connect you with the person who does this.

One year we flew into STT on our way to St. Johns and spent the night at the Best Western by the Airport in St. Thomas. Might be an option. This was about 5 +/- Years ago.

We stayed one night before boarding a catamaran at The Galleon House. We arrived late and took a cab there...not far. The rooms are very basic, but it served our purpose well. There is a rooftop terrace where they serve a free breakfast each morning. Everyone there was either going sailing or had just returned. We will stay there again for our next sailing trip. We have to ferry over to Tortola for the boat, so spending the night is necessary.
