We are planning to go to St John in June ( week of 20 or 27th ). How easy will it using staroptions ... even if it is the slow season, is it realistic to think we'll get a 3BR villa

Thanks

Unfortunatley it is not realistic. I would be open to all villa types that will satisfy your group.

I would say slim to none particularly if you are only open to that one week--St John and Harborside are the two toughest trades and the best way to succeed is to be extremely flexible.

Unlikely

The true "slow season" in St John is late September through October. Anytime school is out is a "busy season" in St John. Now that the new Bay Vista buildings are open, and possibly not sold out, you might have a chance with an internal StarOptions exchange. We've been owners there for 10 years in the 3 bedroom pool villas and only the first year or two were we able to even successfully shift our week within in our season. We've never been able to switch to a lower/summer week.

We are going Thanksgiving week this year, but only after being on the waiting list for 10 months and taking a Bay Vista unit rather than our owned/preferred Virgin Grand unit. We did have them note in the reservation that we own VG and would prefer one of those villas; our only hope is someone who's renting arrives and gets an unrefurbished unit and wants a "newer" unit.

3 bdrm is highly unlikely.

I nabbed a 2 bdrm platinum plus exchange (Jan 30-Feb 6, 2009) by calling at exactly 9 months out at 9am Eastern time. Note that I got a Fri/Fri exchange.

Don't count out Friday and Sunday check-ins as I'm sure Saturday is the most popular.

Good luck!

Just so you know, it's St. John - no "s"
