Steps to transfer timeshare

I posted my timeshare for sale recently and have had a couple of folks interested. Quick questions…

1) Once I find an interested party, it’s my understanding that I need to send them an agreement (contract) to facilitate the transfer. Am I correct?

2) Once both parties sign the agreement, we forward it to the transfer company (LT Transfers, etc.). Correct?

3) Then, it’s a waiting game for the transfer to occur?

4) Is there anything else I should be aware of? Is there anything I can do to be proactive?

Thanks for your replies!

Some timeshares -- maybe most, possibly all, I don't know -- levy a resort transfer charge that's separate from the costs of preparing & recording a new deed.

For example, Vacation Village At Parkway & Grandview At Las Vegas charge $250 as a resort transfer fee, over & above the separate costs of closing & deed recordation, etc.

Until the timeshare's own resort transfer fee is paid, ownership transfer is incomplete.

LT Transfers provides the contract, they will send a copy for you both to sign and send back to them.

LT Transfers now does escrow, which they didn't do before, so that is a good addition to their services.

Perfect! This is very helpful. Apparently, my resort also requires pre-paid maintenance fees during the transfer. Not sure if its pro-rated or if I will have to pay an entire year's maintenance. Either way, it is what it is. Thanks again for the quick response and helpful information.
