I went to a presentation by Pain Logistics. They send nurse practitioners to your home if you are a viable candidate to do a stem cell injection. Stems are from umbilical cords. Claim is the cells will regenerate and you can avoid knee replacement, etc. I thought they couldn’t do much for neck, but he claims otherwise. A few years ago my orthopedic doctor said he could do stem cell injections, but they wouldn’t last.
anybody gone this route.
not finding much online about this company

I researched stem cell injections to repair my heart about 4 1/2 years ago. The research looks promising but the only places that were doing this procedures were foreign countries at that time. From what I remember, in the USA they were restricted from using fetal stem cells with the exception of umbilical cord or adult bone narrow. I talked to my Cardiologist and was told it was likely more harm than good in my case.

I'm curious if anyone has gone this route and has some info to share.

Bill

Personally, I decided a long time ago, if “standard” medicine doesn’t fix something that ails me, even if if it is life shortening or fatal, I’ll accept it and go when it’s time.

I certainly understand others have a completely different view.

Cheers.

A friend had stem cell injections from her own cells; not cord cells. It was to cure a bad knee. She couldn't tell the difference, except to her bank account.

Brooks Koepka (golfer) had stem cell injected to his injured knee and it worked for him. I have a knee pain issue due to scar tissue and was also recommended to have stem cell injection. Insurance does not cover and it was around $6k as I recall. I have never heard of stem cell injection as a substitute for knee replacement.

I am looking at injections in neck, merely stating his claim about knee.

Fwiw my mom had a traditional knee replacement in one knee and stem cell injection in the other. I believe that you are right on the money about price. She's happy with it and certainly had less pain with the injection than the traditional treatment. It still seems really weird to me.

To @rapmarks I know someone who is very interested in it and watches a lot of youtube videos. I can get the name of the people who do the videos that he watches if you are interested. I believe that there is some connection to someone (or a school maybe) in the Caribbean.

I would be interested in neck injections they aren’t as successful from what I have learned . It would be 4500 for a neck injection from this company. They send a nurse practitioner to the house for the procedure. They own the lab, and have no doctor office. Of course none of it is covered by insurance. i Wouldn’t do anything without talking about it with my orthopedist

When I was researching this there were many clinics in the USA that were scams. The closest facility using umbilic stem cells that seemed legit was in Panama. The best clinic was in Germany. The best research trials were in California.

The best results seemed to be in Asia where they use fetal stem cells.

This is a link to the Panama clinic.

The speaker mentioned Panama several times. My neighbor brought a friend last night who was I terrible shape from an auto accident. He said he was going to try it. I am waiting to see how that progresses

My regular orthopedic surgeon does the stem cell shots to the knee.
Yes, mine said he did them too. He said they would last a few years. This (sales) guy, claims permanent. My orthopedic already said probably surgery wouldn’t work on my neck, so I will talk to him about stem cells.

I had this done to my Left knee in Apr. I was bone on bone on the anterior side with almost no gap. I just went for my 3 month check last month. I had 3.5 times more space than what it originally was. The Clinic that did mine said it will continue to grow for up to a year. Mine was from donor cord cells and cost me $3500. My insurance did not cover it.

Thank you. So your injection was less than they quoted. Do you go back to them to check your knee and is that cost covered by insurance?

Our daughter had stem cells for a back injury about 6 years ago. She had it repeated about 6 months later. They used her own stem cells. It took 6-12 months for a full “recovery” but she has been pain free since. She does equestrian eventing so a lot of back stress.
Our Labrador had elbow dysplasia as a puppy- 6 months old. The orthopedic vet wanted to do surgery at 10,000 per leg with a 50% chance of recovery. Instead we found a stem cell study at University of Florida that she was enrolled in. Initially, we weren’t sure if it helped but she gradually improved. Today she is 7.5 years and never has any issues.
