Starwood Forum

i vote for rudy g. -- whoops i mean separate westin section :)

Ah, instead of simply voting "yes"... The admin has asked for "Is there something in particular that a new forum would provide over the existing one?"

Probably should reply with some "justifications"...

When I logon, I immediately hit "New Posts" to see what's been posted since my last visit. The threads are listed with the most recent one first. I look at the thread titles (along the left side of the screen) and never even pay attention to where the thread was initiated. As a result, I have no preference with regard to a separate thread ... but my vote can be purchased via paypal! :)

Here is my justification.

I have recently started to get interested in Starwood after having attended a presentation, and explorer package. I found it somewhat inconvenient to reseach on SVO since there was no dedicated forum. When I log on to TUG I am most interested in Marriott and Starwood. Therefore I click on new posts, and select Marriott. It would be nice to do the same with Starwood.

That is so cool... Thanks for pointing that out. I'm gonna use the feature going forward. I didn't even know it existed.

I'm okay with it where it is. I usually read every forum anyways.

This is exactly what I do at log-on. I can not think of a single reason to create an additional forum.

When I meet folks interested in TSs - I tell then about TUG. e.g. at the Bellagio this week-end - around the pool converation - someone discusses Starwood...

I can imagine to a non-Tugger that telling them to go to the 'Hotel-based' TS section for Starwood seems confusing (it was for me when I first got here because those words seemed foreign at the time, Marriot has their own and it was confusing to go to a non-descript forum to see a similiar TS system.

This may seem simple to us - but I know it is not for others... This is precisely why...

This is a reason to give SVO its own forum

SVN needs it's own forum. In fact, I'd say all the major's should have their own (Hyatt, Hilton, etc). The search capability is good, but when we want to focus on one we shouldn't have to wade through posts on other t/s's. It's never made sense to me why there is a "Hotel" forum, since there really aren't that many.

Uh, yeah... I say if Starwood get's their own forum, then Hilton Grand Vacations Club deserves their own too!

And what about DVC? I'm a newbie here and I'm considering purchasing at Disney Vacation Club... I don't even know what forum to find info/threads about them. They aren't really "hotel" based. Are there no DVC owners in TUG?

Yes there are quite a few and they post here and on the buying selling, exchanging and Florida threads. :)

If you want DVC advice, go to the DisBoard. That is where you can find all the answers to your DVC questions. Or send me a private message and i'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
