If you go to Starbucks once in a while (or more) and use a Starbucks card, register it online. You get several "goodies" that way. One is free flavor syrup in your beverage. Also if you are ordering brewed coffee and drinking it there (visiting with friends, perhaps?) refills are free. And some locations will give you two hours wi-fi a day free with the card.

StarBux Is O. K. But . . .

. . . I'm sticking with McDonald's sr. citz. coffee -- black, no flavor syrup.

Must be a new program. I've received gift cards for SB a few times in the last several years, always register them online (to find out how much is on them!) and have received no freebies whatsoever.

Me either. I have gotten a couple of $10 gift cards for buying, or reloading, a card with a $50 value, but haven't even gotten that in over a year.

Its a fairly new program (6 months or so?), and all you have to do is register your card online. If you go to Starbucks.com and click on registering your card you'll see it there. Once the card is registered, when you pay your flavor shot should automatically show up as no charge.

Oddly enough, MacDonald's has IMHO very good coffee and a senior price of about 45 cents.

I don't go to Starbucks for the "plain" coffee. And I never go to MacDonald's. ;)

I wonder if this applies cards that were registered for the new program started?

I've been doing this since the program first started. I believe you also get a free drink when you buy a lb of coffee. I used to pay $10/mo to use T-mobile at Starbcks. Free is good

In our area wireless used to be free in Starbucks. Dh found out it wasn't a few months ago. However, at certain places in the Starbuck's store he's able to connect to someone else's free wireless network in the area. :ignore: And, if he can't, he just goes to Peet's. :D

Don't confuse t-mobile hotspots ($$$) with ATTWIFI (free). The ATTWIFI is available by registering your SB card and signing up with ATT at Starbucks web site. If a SB's has wifi, I'm certain you can get it for free (ATTWIFI)

Ya know, whie I wouldn't take a business meeting in McDonald's (and I often do in Starbucks) I have to say their coffee (both hot and iced) is really good. I believe it's Newman's Own . . .

Of course, when I can get it, Tim Horton's is my favorite! I have found two Tim's in CT, but not near me. I wonder how much their low prices have to do with it? :whoopie:

Better move to Canada if you love Tim Horton's. There is a few in some northern states, but it is a mainstay of coffee drinkers in the great white north.

Tim Horton was a hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs (as well as Rangers, Penguins, and Sabres) see wiki for more info

Most Americans missed the joke in Wayne's World. In the movie, Mike Myers set it in Chicago area IL, so instead of the Tim Horton's donut store they made it the Stan Mikita donut store.

Canadian trivia of the day....

Buy the way if you do sign up for the starbucks rewards, it takes 24 hours at least before they know you card is registered. I signed up my new card because my old card is no longer readable by the machines. When I went to the store about 3 hours later, they did not show me as being registered.

I like the free refills with the Starbucks card. But I love Alan's reply. His posts are always hilarious!

Thanks -- Nice Of You To Say.

I try to have fun with timeshares & timesharing & TUG-BBS. And most of the time, that's pretty much the way it works out. Only a few times (so far) have my TUG-BBS entries got anybody's goat or caused anyone to get grumped off noticeably. (Nobody's perfect, eh?)

As to McDonald's sr. citz. coffee, it is pretty good & flavorful -- even won some double-blind taste tests over formidable competitors like Dunkin' Donuts. Plus, we frequently make advantageous use of McDonald's for potty stops along the way between here & various timeshares.

I sometimes order sr. citz. coffee via the drive-through lane. When they come up with a way to accomplish drive-through potty stops, that's what will be really something.
