We have an opportunity to visit this Resort on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina but don't know much about it.

Is it a Resort worth visiting?

Is it a walkable distance to beaches and good restaurants?

Do they rent bicycles there?

Any feedback at all is appreciated.

Thank you.

I like Bluewater and their is a restaurant/bar next door and maybe one more within walking distance but almost everything else will require you to get into the car. They do not rent bicycles but most bike places will drop off the bikes and pick them up if you reserve for at least 3 days. I am not sure if they currently have it but at some point they had a shuttle to waterside their sister resort which then has a shuttle to the beach. Bluewater is on Skull creek on the top of the shoe but not at all close to the beach.

BW is a very nice resort. Hudson's next door is a very good casual seafood restaurant. There are public beaches nearby, but you'd need a car/bike (5 miles). I'd call the resort front desk to ask about a shuttle/beach access. I prefer either being on a plantation or being near Coligny at Waterside. Definitely get bikes. There are tons of shaded trails all over the island.

BW is located on an ocean with boat access and near several restaurants.
Also, it is located at the end of a residential community. You will need an automobile to enjoy The Island.

They do charge a per day resort fee. Marriott Harbour town and shelter coves are better walk to restaurants locations and the other marriott's are better ocean access locations.

Bluewater is walkable to 3 restaurants........2 good ones (Skull Creek Boathouse & Skull Creek Dockside) and one very mediocre one (Hudson's).
It's a nice resort on its own merit, but it's VERY isolated regarding proximity to the rest of civilization at Hilton Head------grocery stores, restaurants, shops,
and most importantly the BEACHES. If choices at HH are extremely limited (or no other availability), it would work,
but if another is available and looks nice, take it.
Waterside by Spinnaker near Coligny Plaza & Sea Pines is absolutely the best of the Spinnaker resorts (dozens of the top restaurants, shops, activities, etc
and everything else near Waterside, including at least 4-5 good grocery stores.)

"Opportunity to visit" .........not sure how that was offered, but if it's a Spinnaker Resort invitation to tour Bluewater,
see if you could negotiate a stay at Waterside and still do the presentation at Bluewater.
If not, I wouldn't say a stay at Bluewater would not be enjoyable. Despite its relative isolated location, it IS a very nice resort....very quiet, beautiful, nice pools etc.

If you are the type that plans to spend at least part of the day at the beach most days while you are at Hilton Head then it probably isn't for you. When we go in the spring and the ocean is too cold to swim (even if there are kids and some other hardier folks enjoying the water) and you want a pretty but quiet resort and enjoy water views and walks, perhaps take advantage of the included kayaks and such then Blue water is a nice choice. Especially for those who aren't big beach people. Typically we spend one or at the most two days at the beach when staying at Bluewater and do other land and water based day trips and enjoy the afternoons and evenings around the resort. I like the Hudson seafood market and most days we stop by in the morning to get the fresh catch of the day to cook and eat in the dining room or on the balcony enjoying the sunsets.
