Spain MVC Recommendations

If you are looking at December then check whether it is worth exchanging as both MVCs are available either by II Getaway or one of the Accommodation Certificates. It could well be cold and grey, but the Christmas lights are usually very nice.
All of June and to about a third of the way through July would be my recommendation for when you stand a good chance at an exchange matching and it being very nice weather.
Get your request in as soon as you can, but don't expect it to get matched before mid to end Jan 2024. Check manually to as weeks can slip through the auto-match process.

Thanks. I have an OGS for both June 2024 and June 2025. My wife isn't sure about going to a beach resort in December. If we don't get something I'll see if she changes her mind for December 2024. Our son wants to go to Spain as he is planning to do a Spanish undergrad and is thinking to do a semester study abroad in Spain.

Worth putting a request in if you can for either of the 2 MVCs near Marbella, you stand a decent chance after the easter holidays have finished. I haven't see open inventory in II for MVC Europe after Easter, so MVC are probably holding some inventory for a bulk deposit sometime in the next few months.

Just landed a 3 bedroom at Playa in June 16-23 2024. We will have a 13 and 17 year old with us. Now to figure out the rest of the trip; I know we want to visit Seville (maybe the university since my son also wants to do a study abroad) and Gibraltar. Flight are crazy expensive from Ohio. Depending on flights, I'm thinking to add on a couple of night at the front or end of the trip. Any recommendations on where you might add a couple of nights near one of the main airports where we might have a layover anyway?

Congrats. Barcelona or Madrid are solid options for add on days/nights.

We flew to Malaga on TAP and had a 3-night layover in Lisbon on the way back. Great city to visit, and very affordable relative to Europe.

The train from Madrid is direct but from Barcelona is a change in Madrid. You could therefore fly into Barcelona and spend a few days. Take the high speed train to Madrid and spend a few days,and then go to Playa. Granada has a big University and many of the study abroad programs operate there as well.
Lastly, when we lived in Cincinnati I checked flights out of Montreal and drove their because I found it cheaper than with connections from the states.

We're flying open jaw into MAD, staying a couple of nights w/o family, taking the train down to Marbella to meet family (one reservation through II and one with MVC points), and then taking a puddle jumper to IST and flying home from IST (UAL miles on UAL and Turkish airlines). We're staying at Marbella the 3rd week in March with one family (children have spring break the 3rd week in March) and in Istanbul the 4th week in March (with daughter plus BF who have spring break the 4th week in March). I'm using Marriott points in Madrid and Istanbul.
