Did you buy 44k while owning several other 81k weeks? Any of us can find ways to use them…I’m curious what made someone cough up $15k for just 44k while also stating he wants a WKV 148k week (which costs about the same amount). Perhaps the flexibility of DP? I don’t know. You don’t know. That’s why I asked.

I only made one developer purchase in my earlier years. I’ve only purchased resales since. Sounds like he coughed up 15K to enroll all mandatory ownerships, one of which was a developer purchase. So I really don’t know why they would cough up 15K. I agree with you I would buy the WKV resale. I was just responding to the “44K won’t go far”. I’m just saying, it could go far for some.

In summary…
$15K for 44K Westin FlexOptions and retro of SVV-KW which is already VSN Mandatory? When you can buy 148.1K WKV StarOptions for same price.

Did I read that correctly?
Is there still time to rescind?

If you have no plans to use the Marriott system, keep buying mandatory resales. I doubt the Vistana side will change much. We wanted to open up our profolio to other opportunities in the Marriott system in the future so having our resales in the system as developer gives us the biggest opportunity to use that system if all this works out as written and spoken. All developer isn't for everyone. I moreover wanted to give knowledge to people since I just went through it. I really appreciate everyone's feedback. I have learned a lot from this site over the years of owning.

To all,
I've own two USVA St. John timeshares, one Bay Vista and one Coral Vista. Bay Vista is annual float platinum plus with Staroptions of 176,700 and Coral Vista Diamond 148,100. I just came back from Myrtle Beach and stayed at Sheraton Broadway Plantation and attended an owner's meeting during which they informed us that they are doing a soft launch so we can trade one of our timeshare to get into Marriott Executive Level. So the deal is to trade Coral Vista and pay additional 15K to get into Sheraton FLEX (152000 Staroptions) and become Marriott Executive Level member. Benefit are: 13 month booking windows at Marriott Vacation Club, 30% off Vacation Club Rental Discount and other minimal benefits. Does this make sense at all since we've reviewed the documents after we got home and there is no mention of Marriott Vacation Club in any of the documents in the flash drive!! We are considering to cancel the trade-in but would like to know what our options are. Please advise. Thank you for your time in advance....
So, your gaining 3900 staroptions for $15k? Pretty sure you can buy a 44k staroption plan for that.

So not that it matters since I already rescinded… but my “elite status” showed up for 2 days before it was gone…(so did the 89,000 west flex points)…
But what happened was they (the sales) told me I’d be 4 start elite…but the Vistana page only showed 3 star elite…I guess I don’t even need to go argue with anyone…I think they mis-calculated something with all of my EOY stuff : )

I suspect that the retro did not include all 3 timeshare weeks that you had even though the sales person sold it to you that way. I did a calculation of what you own as in your earlier post and with the retro it would have made you 4 Star Elite.
