and he wants to discuss the recent changes to the Club and how that affects my ownership going forward. Or shall I say that they called my phone and then wanted to speak to my husband.

I have to say that my buns are frosted. A.) It drives me nuts that I am always given second billing as an owner. Is timeshare ownership a man's world? I've even needed guest certificates for myself and I'm on the deeds and the accounts. And truth be told, we wouldn't have any of these timeshares if it weren't for me saying "Sign here, dear."

But to get a call from corporate when I just checked out of a Wyndham this morning? That is ridiculous. Perhaps if their offer for an owner's update included more than free breakfast, they could have spoken to me in person. But it didn't. And the Mr. wasn't with us so they really didn't want to talk to me anyway. So we enjoyed our stay without the sales team. And I do have to admit, there is a direct correlation between enjoying your Wyndham stay and avoiding the owner's updates.

That is all. Rant over. (And I've not meant to offend any of the men here.)

Are you sure this was a call from Wyndham? Sleazy sales tactics include the pretense of being a company, when they are just a postcard type company, trying to help you get rid of that nasty timeshare.

I had a call from supposedly Wyndham, and they started talking about how most people are left out of the good benefits of Wyndham, and then he went on to say something about how we could get out of the contract. Then I knew.

I also get a lot of calls from companies pretending to be RCI. RCI would be appalled at the scams being pushed under the name of RCI. It really makes RCI look bad.

We get calls all the time pretending to be Wyndham or RCI. Probably a scam.

Call back -- see what you get. I'm betting it's not Wyndham.

You should be honored that you have been selected for such a prestigious award. I bet you will be entitled to a discount of $50 off the rack price.*

* price and availability may change be onee of the first to call to guarantee a spot in this SELECT few.

There are only two possibilities, either Wyndham is calling you to sell you points for an order of magnitude more than they are worth, or a scammed of some kind is calling to sell you "advertising" or something else for more than its worth.

Both are trying to part you from your money, is it worth investing time to determine which it is? I would just hang up.

I too get upset that ALL the timeshare companies treat me like an ancillary to my husband. They always want to talk to my husband. My husband gets on the phone and tells them that he doesn't know what he owns or how they work and the caller will have to talk to me, then he hands me back the phone. Same thing at checkin they always want him even though I have all the info and all the money. Such bs.

@bendadin The next time you are asked for a guest certificate, post the issue on one of these boards. I'm sure that you'll get some excellent suggestions on how to straighten out the Wyndham people.

You should never need a guest certificate if you are listed as an owner on the deeds! Give owner care a call and get this resolved.

It doesn't matter if the reservation is in your name or your husband's name, either one of you can check in. I've even checked in for our son who is also listed as an owner on our account.

I just got a call from 407-967-4716. "This is Wyndham Vacation Services, you are an owner, right?"
They wanted to offer me a "free" vacation.
She was extremely bubbly, but I wasn't happy to be woke up on a Saturday morning....so I just told her I had plenty of points and didn't need anything free.
I did call the number back and got the "Welcome to Wyndham Vacation Services", so this was actually Wyndham....
Here is a thread fro 2013 on other information about that phone number.

Googling the phone number, and I find a lot saying it is a spam sales number of Wyndham.

Called Wyndham's regular number. They indicated that Wyndham Vacation Services is not their company but Wyndham Vacation Rentals is. Called the number above and the rep said they were Wyndham Vacation Getaways it is a marketing package. States they are a marking department of Wyndham.

I've never had Wyndham sales leave me a message, and they typically call about once every couple weeks and I don't answer. I only get messages from other timeshare system sellers.

I once applied for "Wyndham Vacation Services" in Orlando FL. All they do is try to sell more vacations to owners. If you get a call, ignore or see what they offer. Maybe put that phone # in your Contacts so you are ready when they call.
