My Middle Son lives in Chicago and he is excited and happy with the Choice. He is a converted Catholic. Leo XIII was one of his favorite Popes.

Yeah! I kept reading he graduated from Villanova in '77...gee, that sounded familiar... Wait! We could have been in high school at the same time. Yeah, these popes are becoming contemporaries of mine.

Like most people, I never dreamed I'd see a US-born Pope. This is somewhat exciting. Of course with his S. American roots, I do expect him to be much like Francis. Just glad we still have a Pope.

I too feel a sense of hope with the selection of Pope Leo XIV. I really like Cardinal Dolan and he also would have made a wonderful Pope.

It is just remarkable tome that this man was from the same area where I grew up.
There is a picture posted from last summer with him in a short sleeved shirt with a group at Aurelio’s Pizza inn home wood Illinois.
My father was close friends with Joe Aurelio, we always went there. I have a relative who lived in every place that he lived in the Chicago area, and many cousins his age.
His brother lives in New Lenox and he spent a lot of time with him. He votes absentee ballot in Will County Illinois.
