Are you raining iguanas?

It is even cold down here in Corozal Belize. Only a high of 74F today and really windy so it felt cooler. Going down to 57F tonight and cool again tomorrow with temps expected to dip to 51F here tomorrow night. Yikes! Since its usually hot and humid here. the apartment we stay in has a large (3ft square?) transom window above the door that is just screen, no glass! The only warm clothes we have with us are the ones we left Toronto in and will wear back there at the end of Feb. I had to ditch the shorts and tank top for them this afternoon. At least it is a way warmer than at home in Ontario where they have been having very cold temperatures (well below zero F.) all week.

Our DS who lives outside of Tampa, where flurries are forecasted as well, sent me this earlier today. He has had the heat on since Tuesday.

We were covering plants yesterday and I told DW we need to move further south. She was not amused and said rather emphatically, “I’m not moving again!”.

And, yes, we did pick this week to visit Bonnet Creek and WDW. 🥶

I have a rule on plants, if it cant survive without my intervention it simply gets replaced with something else.

though I did go wrap some old towels around two new crepe myrtles i planted last month just in case the roots havent really taken yet.

Shivering in North Florida...
I saw a guy wearing shorts this afternoon with it barely in the 40's.
... Had to do a double take. He must've been from up North.

The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Boston Bruins will be playing OUTDOORS today in a "Stadium Series" ice hockey game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa (to be televised on ESPN). Weeks ago, the concern was that the refrigeration people would somehow have to deal with temperatures in the 70s. Instead, it's going to be in the 30s later in the game!

That would be my rule, also. Unfortunately, DW believes everything; human, animal, plants, trees and anything ever made from them, should live forever and we should do everything in our power to assist it in doing so. I half-heartedly argue with her but to no avail, of course.

If a plant needs my help to survive, that plant is at a clear disadvantage in evolutionary selection.

was in the 20s this morning with 25mph gusts...

i dont care where you are from, thats miserable to be out in.

Or not all there upstairs:eek:

It is just barely 70 and 25-30 mph winds in Grand Cayman.
No one laying on the beach today.
I was sitting outside in a sweat shirt, not the weather I was going for.

I have to say I had hoped I wouldn't need my winter coat and gloves in Ft Lauderdale but it was like 35 and windy out today - it eventually got to 52 so I could go back to my middle weight jacket.

It is a chilly 17 degrees in Coastal Virginia this morning. We do have one bright spot the snow is gone. Folks it is cold in Virginia.

The local weather forecast for today prediction is a high 37 degrees .

It is 8 degrees here in NC this morning with 10 inches of snow on the ground. #thesekidsarenevergoingbacktoschool

It is only 3 degrees warmer here than in Punxsutawney, and we’re forecasted for more wintry mix on Wed.

Here in Ft Lauderdale it's now 43, and I'm using the oven with the door open to heat the living room, and a space heater at Wyndham Palm-Aire in each bedroom / bathroom. IDK, the heat doesn't work. We asked about it Sat night, and I texted again this morning, but if they can't do anything I guess it'll be less of an issue after today. I just don't know why it took me days to think of using the Oven to heat the central area.

Apparently, they've cheaped out on the space heaters. A set of powerful space heaters can heat up a space pretty quickly...and have safety features like precise thermostats and "tip over" shutoffs.

I'm assuming that the stove is electric so at least you won't have a carbon monoxide issue. But it will heat the kitchen area first and then ever so slowly start heating up adjoining rooms. Not optimal by any means.

And that assumes that the stove's heat will overwhelm "under the door" gaps and other gaps which may allow cold air to enter.

Open door oven heating is still a fire hazard, though, so don't leave the unit expecting to come back hours later. Same thing with going to sleep at night.

I'd ask them if you can check the heating in other units. If central heating works there, I'd switch.
