We're thinking about renting at Smuggler's Notch Resort. I do not want to do a tour. Been there, done that and after learning about TUG will never buy from a resort. With that said, can someone clarify what the smuggs pass entitles you to and if a tour is required to purchase one. I have 3 children so we definitely want sign up for the camps. How soon before your arrival do we need to book the camp. TIA. :)

You do not have to do a tour for the Pass, though when you check in they will try to direct you over to the Wyndham desk to get your keys (very annoying). The pass gets you into the 8 different pools/water slides, the Fun Zone recreation center, and I believe disc golf (not sure about that) and some other activities. Camps are additional, but I think the pass entitles you to a discount on the camps, the nursery, as well as the equipment rental and outfitter place on site.. You can sign up for the camps on arrival, or beforehand when registering. Are you renting through the resort, or privately through an owner? How old are your children?

We would be renting privately thru an owner. Our children are 10& 12. Thank you for the information. Are their any units/sections to stay away from. As in old and outdated.

We were there 2 years ago, but it was in May and there was no pass or camp in that season, but if you're interested in a zipline tour, we got a discount at ArborTrek by staying at Smuggs. Ask to see if there is still a discount if you're interested.

There was a situation a year or two ago where someone was renting through a Wyndham owner who booked with points and they were told that they would be required to attend the tour (both spouses required to attend) in order to pay for and get the Smuggs pass. Renting through a deeded owner or through RCI you will not have to take a tour. A deeded owner also has a fixed week and a fixed unit so you get what they own. With Wyndham I am not sure how they determine which unit you get and how much you can direct the assignment.

In what building does the owner own? Do you know which building you will be staying in?
