Wow..interesting news.. we loved our stay years ago and look forward to a return.

I hope it stays similar - I like the resort and the setup and would hate to not be able to go anymore.

This is one of my all-time favorite exchanges. I go at least every other summer...and every summer if I can swing it. :) I hope it doesn't change much. Love it there!

Does Wyndham still manage it? Is that going to change?

We went during the summer, didn't love the resort, but my daughter met another girl and then we met her parents, Mike and Stephanie and we hung out the rest of the week with them. We are still good friends, we live about 2 hrs apart but they stay over our house and we stay over theirs. We talk on the phone all the time and are always getting together. That was the only good thing about that resort.

Yea, it's one of our favorite ones too. Try and go every other year as well. While the day of week won't work this year, after the 4th of July Last Call I snagged last year, I'm going to be watching for future years - the on site party and fireworks were great!

While the signage suggests Wyndham manages Smuggs, that is not now and has never been true.

Fortunately Smuggs ownership says this will change little in terms of the timeshare ownership or experience and basic resort operation BUT will hopefully offer new experience options in the future - and maybe some resort upgrades.
One thing for sure, to be collaborating with another private resort owner in Vermont is WAY better than being sold to Vail of Alterra.
I will be there next week and hope to have a chat over a morning coffee with Lisa Howe (now past President) to learn a bit more.

As an owner of four winter weeks at Smuggs for 20+ years, I am hopeful that they plan on taking care of the current timeshare/condo owners. I feel the core of the operation are the owners and the locals. It’s really not a weekender’s place like the more commercial ski mountains in VT. If the new resort owners take care of the current timeshare/condo owners, it will result in a mutually beneficial relationship. I feel very strongly about that.
I’m expecting that costs will rise along with the resort potential infrastructure improvements (lifts, lodges, trails, snowmaking etc). Understandably, someone has to pay for that. But in turn I’m hoping they do not strip away current timeshare/condo owners benefits which are already paid for.
