Smoking on the Balcony

What, if anything, do you do if you observe someone smoking on a balcony of a no smoking resort?

I've called or texted the front desk to complain. They send someone out from security who walks through and sees nothing. The routine has continued for up to three days in a row until the smokers checked out. BTW, this was not cigarette smoke. I suspect it will only get worse in Florida if the ballot initiative passes as expected this fall.

In Las Vegas the smoking floors all smell like weed.

I'm no good for this conversation. I'm the one who told the front desk at the lodge in Deadwood that I thought there was a skunk in the hallway somewhere (at my daughter's wedding reception). I'm sure they had a good laugh.

I used to think there was a skunk living in my neighbor's yard, too.

So short answer @chapjim, I don't report anything any more.

Uggh. I hate this. We had a terrible experience with this at Sheraton vistana once, couldn’t use our balcony at all because the jackass below us was ALWAYS out there smoking.

I went to the front desk, asked if anyone really cared. Showed the attached photo of the occupant of the next unit. Told the front desk I didn't want to be identified the one who turned the guy in and that he was a big dude and could kick my whatever. Young girls at the front desk said they'd contact a manager.

Don't know if they did or not but the smoker moved out today.
