At Vidanta RM. just upgraded to what we don’t wish to have for $54k This morning. I will continue to check and I know I have seen this discussed before. Will be here 3 more days so is it head to customer service guy we just saw tomorrow and end it all? There should be no repercussions correct? We’re 74 and happy we what we have. No alcohol. We got hypnosised again. Please advise 😎

iirc, you have to go to 'Owner Services'. It may take an appointment. Absent that, and IF there is sufficient time you can do it by USPS from home, but stay away from that salesroom.

Better cancel while you can. The Vidanta properties are gorgeous but there are many other gorgeous properties in Mexico. If you are staying at the Luxxe or Bliss you can give the cancellation letter with the signatures of those who signed to your concierge. You can email the sales department as well. Email gives you a time stamp. You can go to the sales office and cancel with a letter as well. Just hand it to the sales manager and explain you are canceling then walk away if they try to re-pitch you.

You should go to Member Services and rescind!

I have been a Vidanta owner for 25 years, and have lots of perks that are no longer available. That said, I would not pay $54,000 for anything now.
In our 25 years our purchases and upgrades including this years 10 year renewal fee of $5,500, we have spent about $60,000 we have not counting Usage/Maintenance Fees and now have 2 weeks of GL 2-bedroom units each year, That does not include the 4 extra weeks that we can pay for if we want more weeks.

With what I have, in the 25 years, we have paid about $60,000 for numerous units, including upgrades and this years renewal fee. Many were really cheap eBay purchases. that when we upgraded to GL they used the Vidanta value for "equity".

I have had the no pay unless you go since 2007 (when we had as many as 7 contracts) and were fortunate enough to get the Senior Certificate that was offered from November 2006-2008 at no cost. This is no longer an option. This certificate said that once we were 75, we paid 1/2 price for MF or UF and once 77 - we could use our weeks for free for life, Last year we started using that benefit. In December I paid the renewal fee of about $5500 for 2 weeks of Grand Luxxe 2-bedroom and have 10 years of 2 weeks each year at a 2-bedroom GL through 2033 at no charge. If I choose to go to lower levels, I get a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom for each GL week. So 2 -2bedroom weeks + 2-1-bedroom weeks at Grand Bliss and lower.

If I get to use them all by 2033, I will have more than broken even at the rate they up the Usage fees! I will be using 2a 1-bedroom aand a 2 bedroom in PV Marina later this month and already have a week at RM GL to take friends in April. Need to figure out where else I will go later in 2025!

So, as a long time owner, I would never give the $54,000 at one time.

Thank you pittle. We have a 10 year contract with celebrity park with 5 years left. Pay when you use. We really didn’t want that but did it. This was going up to some Grand Luxxe for the extra $’s. They did add a lot of good things that we may or may not use. By the time we were back to our room I noticed not happy wife-not happy life. I learned rescinding the new contract would change that. We’ve been married 51 years. Easy decision. We love Vidanta Marina. Have fun

I have an Thursday at 2:30 with customer service to rescind. My sales person from today has called twice tonight. First for any ?’s we might have and why we want to rescind? 2nd ? Could I come by Wednesday to his office to pick up the paperwork I will need. does that sound suspicious to anyone? Geez I step in *bleep* sometimes

If you are like me, I can handle anything they throw my way. Was there for a presentation this past March and didn't bite. I set an alarm and let it ring when his time was up. But they got you once, they will likely get you again. Normally, you should have been given everything you need when you signed earlier. Nothing is needed if you have the contract number.
That means, there shouldn't be any reason to go back to sales. All sales want to do is sell you stuff.
I would write the recision letter, make three copies. Include pertinent info such as your names, contract number, and date the contract was signed. No reason for cancellation needed.
Sign and date it and have the wife do the same.
Give one to concierge, give one to the sales guy of you do decide to go there (I wouldn't), and give one to the owner services on Thursday (is it 12:30 or 2:30?) .
I would email it too if you got an email (it would be in the cancellation clause in the contract).
DO NOT DELAY. Don't accept any concessions and attempts to sweeten the deal. They are really good at it.

Go to the Mexican Post Office on Wednesday morning and mail a REGISTERED LETTER to rescind your purchase. Retain your Post Office Registered Mail Receipt.

Rescinding in any other way will invite phone calls and harassment to attempt to talk you out of it.....

Keep your hands in your pocket and protect your assets. You worked hard for your money so don't let a fast talking salesperson scam you out of it.

All lovely at Vidanta Riviera Maya except possibly hurricane Sara. Just some rain today off and on. We have next week at El CID Ventas Ha in Puerto Moralos so will stay vigilant. One hour with contract terminator and we are feel. Terminate document in hand. All was handled respectfully by both parties. Learning on this forum the 5 day grace period in Mexico was priceless. If tug is keeping track we saved 50K on contract and 30K on interest financed over the next 10 years. Back to happy wife happy life. Thanks for sharing your extensive knowledge 😎

Yes. And we just finished a $250 free dinner on Vidanta for it being their 50th anniversary. Some days go better than others. This was one of those days! Now we'll see how Sara goes down here. Don't have time nor energy to sweat the election😎👍
