There's a new Uber Shuttle option. I think they are currently running a promotion that's $9 each way (normal price is $18). The shuttle brings you to Penn Station, Port Authority or Grand Central. You can reserve through the Uber App.Is there a shuttle from Laguardia to Midtown? Or what is best form of transportation/cost.
If you want to deal with lugging your luggage around then the subway, with all of its stairs, or a bus might be "best". It will be the cheapest. At my age I'm willing to pay the extra for the convenience of door to door service and assistance with luggage. So there are different definitions of "best".

Bit of difference between a cab and a helicopter don't you think?Indeed. On one set of opinions "best" could be taking a Blade helicopter transfer. It's certainly the fastest.
I agree with this, but on the other hand traffic into midtown can absolutely be obscene, and the subway station at Grand Central is accessible. I can’t understate how bad traffic in Manhattan can be and how long you could be stuck sitting in an Uber just trying to go a few blocks. If you want to deal with lugging your luggage around then the subway, with all of its stairs, or a bus might be "best". Oh I get all of that. But at 74 years old and with a husband with mobility issues we are NOT going to be dragging suitcases around, especially up and down stairs.I agree with this, but on the other hand traffic into midtown can absolutely be obscene, and the subway station at Grand Central is accessible. I’ll admit it’s’ been a while, but aren’t the major subway stations handicap-accessible now? I don’t think you’d be dragging suitcases up and down stairs.Oh I get all of that. From what I've read on the NYC TripAdvisor forum not all of the elevators are functional. It's kind of a crap shoot. I'd hate to get to one and find it out of service. That happened to us, but with an escalator, in Canada. Luckily we found a porter who lugged our two big suitcases us the stairs for us. I know we couldn't have managed it.I’ll admit it’s’ been a while, but aren’t the major subway stations handicap-accessible now? I don’t think you’d be dragging suitcases up and down stairs.
We have done the handicapped accessible version of the subway, and it isn't always easy. There are times when it is a very long walk to the elevator. There are also times when the elevators, to put it mildly, are disgusting. And then there are times when the elevators are non-functional, and there is a sign telling you which subway to get on in order to be able to get to ground level without stairs. From what I've read on the NYC TripAdvisor forum not all of the elevators are functional. And if your stop isn't a major subway station you are probably out of luck anyway.
Another criteria for "best". I'll take my chances in a car.No one has mentioned safety as a criteria. Safety is important to me so we use the bus and subway. Much lower death rate than driving in a car.
Have you experienced a ride in those NYC cabs? They are not safe.Another criteria for "best". I'll take my chances in a car.
Yes I have. My daughter and I have gone to NYC 3 times this year. We get a cab from the airport into the city. And we use a car service to return to the airport. Guess what, we're still alive. Plan to use a cab on our next trip in February. And my husband and I have used cabs each year when we've visited NYC. He's still alive as well.Have you experienced a ride in those NYC cabs?
