A couple of reasons, you won’t get nearly your MF’s and with an every other year, my guess is you will use at least some of your points. You can only rent your full week and if you use any of your points outside of your full home week, you lose the ability to book your home week. If you don’t use your points in a given year, you can always save them or even borrow from the next. It’s harder to do with an EoY, but it’s an option.
HGVC is a great system. It’s extremely flexible and treats their resale owners much better than most. The MF’s are relatively low and the resorts are high quality. Unless you have a high demand week, it’s just not set up to rent like Marriott, Vistana and Wyndham are.
