I will be staying at Grand Chateau in a 2-bedroom Thanksgiving week on an II exchange. We are multiple-week Marriott owners.

Should I put in any location requests (i.e. high floor, low floor, etc.)? Having never been there, I really don't have a clue about requesting a location, or should I just take my chances on where they assign me.

TIA.

Although any location is a good location, I would request a high floor with a view of the Strip.

Trying to figure out what's what in the giant City Center construction project directly across the Strip from GC will keep you busy for hours!

Whatever view you get, be sure to go to the top floor (swimming pool) for unobstructed views all around.

Dave - I agree with you about watching the construction! Did you know you can watch the progress on the Polo Towers website? One webcam is permanently pointed at the construction - the second pans up and down the strip. We have been watching City Center progress for a long time now.

Our last trip - we were in a 3-bedroom facing the Planet Hollywood Towers construction - I ended up watching all night long concrete being pumped to the upper floors. You could hear some of the noise - but it was not bad.

Another point - depending on the status of construction - request away from the elevators - sometimes the noise level can be high if they are "attaching" a new tower or the like.

Definitely go to the rooftop! I do not know if the lobby has "opened up" to the other side yet or not.

Have great time! :)

I concur with the above. High floor, strip view has been/would be our choice.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions so far -- seems like all agree high floor, view of strip. That's what we'll request.

Request Tower One

We are there (GC) tight now in 3112 (two bedroom portion of the three bedroom on the end) in Tower one. It is the one that faces Planet Hollywood and City Center. We have been in Tower Two but the view is not as good especially if you are low enough in the building to be behind Polo Towers. There are two kinds of two bedrooms. One is the normal two bedroom that can be anywhere up and down the hall on either side of the hall (i.e. strip view or "mountains in the distance" view. The way to know for sure is to look at your Marriott confirmation and see what is listed in the second bedroom. If it lists two doubles, then you are in the 2 bedroom portion of the three bedroom. There is only one of these on each floor and you have two views of the strip and one of the mountains........If it shows a king then you are in a normal 2 bedroom and would need to request a strip view. We love GC and would be happy to answer any questions.........

Thanks for the tips. I just checked our confirmation and it shows a king bed in the 2nd bedroom.

We'll have a rental car. Is parking free? Valet?

What about WIFI in villas?

Let me know of any recommended restaurants you especially enjoyed.

Thanks.

See this thread for my favorite meat-lovers restaurant in the immediate area. Directly across the street inside the shops adjacent to Planet Hollywood.

Parking is free, except for tips to the valet people. Valet parking only.

Wifi is also free. It can be a bit slow at peak times, but is generally acceptable.
