Should I elect club points using 2025 or 2026

Is it better to elect club points for 2025 or 2026? If I elect club points for 2026, can I borrow back and use in both 2024 & 2025? Seems electing club points for 2026 provides most flexibility? Allowing use 2024-2028 (if banked)? What would be the advantage/ disadvantage of electing club points for 2025 vs 2026? Hoping to reserve st homes ritz Carlton club st. Thomas for maybe 5 nights in Jan-mar 2025
 
Can only borrow back 1 year, so 2026 points cannot be used for a check in date in 2024.

Good to know. We’re booked for 2024 so not an issue. Planning for 2025, but at least flexibility to bank for years 2027-2028 if we elect 2026. So 2026 club points could be used from 2025-2028, a total of 4 years? borrow back 1 year, use year, and potentially banked for 2 more years if elected in use year before 10/31/26, do I have that correct?

If you are Chairman’s Club, then yes on the 4 years. Your deadline date to elect 2026 points would be in 2025, not 2026.

I see where I wrote errantly. I meant elect to bank on 10/31/26 to use in 2027 and or 2028.

Yes, that would be your banking deadline for 2026 points, again assuming you are Chairman’s.
