We all know that the Bella Phase has been in need of renovations for a while now, I attended the SVV Owner Forum meeting on Tuesday and they mentioned the renovations coming up in Bella. Anticipated schedule is from August 2026 through March 2027. As Bella was built in 1999, this is the 28 year complete refurbishment. They showed the refurbishment cycle.
  • Year 7 - Soft Goods
  • Year 14 - Case Goods
  • Year 21 - Soft Goods
  • Year 28 - Complete refurbishment, soft, case, kitchen & bath
They have a model/test unit available. So if you are visiting, you can ask and schedule a time to visit.

Here are a few photos of the villa.

A few things we noticed and that were also pointed out to us by the employees who were showing us the room.
  • They didn't replace any of the interior doors. So we noticed some bangs on them, but they were painted.
  • The island in the kitchen seems too big. I like the waterfall design but there isn't a lot of room between the wall and the stools. Four stools also seems like too many. It was also pointed out how the faucet rotates 360 degrees. They will be fixing that as someone could turn on the water and let it run onto the countertop instead of into the sink.
  • I asked if they replace all the electrical outlets. They don't. I suggested they need to. These things get used and abused and loosen over time. Plugs barely hold in them after a few years. They only cost a few bucks each. The employee in the room agreed and was also when we were told they just repainted interior doors.
  • They tore out the whirlpool tub. Maintenance and obtaining replacement parts was the main reason for their removal. There is now a larger full tile shower. The older shower had a pre-form plastic base.
  • The wood design over what is now a banquet style dining table looks cool, but they will need to make some adjustments. There could be some sore scalps when sitting down or standing up as you could hit your head on the bottom of them.
  • They've installed premium vinyl floring throughout the kitchen and livingroom area. Carpet is now only in the two bedrooms.

Is the thingy on the wall over the couch in the living room painted on the wall or is it a dust collector? They put a similar thingy on all the walls at WSJ during the latest renovation - looks interesting-ish but will be impossible to clean efficiently - kind of like the ventilation ducts where a bit of moisture in the air makes the dust stick. At WSJ they talked about how they had some design firm come in to put together the options for management to select for the renovation - there were a lot of thoughts on the natural elements of the islands that the design firm wanted to reflect in what they put together but it didn't sound like much in the way of practical useability and maintainability thoughts.

That thing over the sofa is indeed a dust collector.

Dioxide45, thanks for sharing those amazing photos of how the Bella renovations will look after they are completely renovated.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for posting. I'm glad this is finally happening. We own a Bella unit but always want to stay in another section since it was so outdated.

Great photos, thanks for sharing!

Toured this unit as well during a recent visit to Orlando - hard to believe it's the same space as before! A drastic and well-done renovation, IMO. I was thrilled to see the overhaul of the primary bedroom bathroom layout - I do wish they could have added a small bench in the shower, but it's still a beautiful design.

Perhaps I will stay in Bella again - been 20 years since staying over there, as I thought the villas had issues back then. 😅

I own a Bella unit but have never stayed there. I did use my promo AC to snag a 2 Bedroom in January so I’ll request a Bella.

When is your trip? If it is before August of this year, the rooms won't be renovated yet. Renovation schedule is August 2026 through March 2027

I loved the shower at Surf Watch (Hilton Head) in the master bedroom. It was a great shower.

The one thing I see lacking in most bathroom renovations is the lack of the shower wand, which I like to have for rinsing efficiently. MM1 master bathrooms do not have them, and you would think those units would have shower wands. Fancy place. We just left there Saturday, so it's fresh on my brain.

I see that this Vistana Villages Bella unit shower has the wand. That is important when taking out the big tub.
