Sheraton Vistana in early Nov 2009

Hi. I have a reservation for a 2 bedroom at the Sheraton Vistana for this coming November (Nov 1 to be exact). Can anyone recommend a section of the resort that would be good to request? I would love to get a renovated unit (and if anyone wants to weigh in on what they think my chances are by that time, that would be great). Also, we are traveling with two older grandparents so the three flights of stairs I've heard about in some places may not be good. Also, we have two kids (8 and 5).

I moved your post to the Starwood board (this is a SW timeshare.) In Owner Resources at the top of the board, you can find maps and floorplans for the resort.

Are you talking about Sheraton Vistana RESORT or Sheraton Vistana VILLAGES? They are 2 entirely different resorts.

So it's Sheraton Vistana Resort?
 
I would about 30 days ahead check in using their

advanced check-in, request a lower unit in Cascades, due to your elders health, unable to do stairs. Whether it will be a refurbed suite or not, it will be nice. Is your reservation for a 8/6 2 bedroom? If not, you will probably end up in the Courts, there you will have stairs.

Own Lakes and Cascades

We own both Lakes and Cascades units. The Lakes unit we stayed in last summer slept 8 (1 king, 2 doubles and pullout in living area). It was beautiful and our building did have an elevator. We did have a ground floor which you could request also. All of the Cascade units won't be finished November (which I was told) then but they will be very nice also.
 
loreenj, are you an owner at VR and if so, in which section is your unit located? I've heard that Lakes and Cascades are interchangeable but that it's difficult to get into either of those sections if you own in other sections. Might be hard for exchangers to get into these sections. I think Fountains renovation is completed and should be very nice but I don't think Fountains has an elevator so you'll need a ground floor. Lakes renovation is also completed. I've heard bad things about Courts and would stay away from that section.
 
Hi everyone. And, as always, thanks for all the great advice. I do not own at Vistana Resort. It's an extra vacation through RCI.
 
If it's an RCI exchange, you might have a hard time getting into Lakes or Cascades. Maybe others who have exchanged into VR could comment on what section they got.
