I've been going to PGA Village with three other guys for the last 5 years for a golf getaway. This time I finally got around to checking out the Sheraton timeshares there. We've been staying in a two bedroom condo that has two beds in each room - very comfortable for four guys. The golf is spectacular and the package deals are very, very cheap. I have to imagine that almost all of the prospects are people there on golf packages, which, considering the low price, must make sales very difficult.

The timeshares are beautiful. But a big problem is that while the regular two bedroom has one king in the master bedroom and two doubles in the second bedroom, the lockoff only has one bed in each room. Well, you might say, what about families, and therein lies the problem. There is pretty much NOTHING to do for kids here! If you don't mind travelling 45 minutes to an hour, you can find something but it seems like a very boring vacation for a family. And in terms of a golf vacation, very few people I know want to go away for a week just to golf.

Yes, they were beautiful but it didn't seem like one of the better thought out projects. Then again, for all I know, it could be very successful for Sarwood!

i do agree, we were there a few years ago in October , we don't golf and besides the pool there was basically nothing to do.we did have the pool all to ourselves. it is a very nice resort, but even the area had nothing to do. a peaceful vacation, bring lots of books.

Gee Steve, you hurt my feelings :ignore:

I do believe this is strictly a Golf/Spring Training location - not a beach location for sure.
I see you own at Fairway Villas - another Golf location - my first developer purchase and another misunderstood location - but July and August are GREAT there!

Forgive me!

Fairway Villas was also my first developer purchase - well before I had taken my advanced training on TUG! I was sold a bill of goods on how easy it is to trade. Well, I live 2 to 2 1/2 hours away and belong to a great golf club there so I certainly didn't need a golf destination so close to home. I also don't enjoy gambling! Even worse, we bought two weeks so we could alternate trading for points! I know - you're all laughing at me but I was so much younger and dumber back then!

I've since sold one of the two weeks and I work hard to make the second one work out for me. That said, I think there's more to do in FV than at PGA, but to each his own.

LOL, I had 2 gold weeks, too!
Sounds like the same scenario
