I have the opportunity to purchase 44k Sheraton flex points at the 2020 cost of $17400. I have seen all the negative feedback but I am looking for all types of feedback so I can decide quickly if this is truly a good plan for our family. We travel often and one of the reasons this looks appealing is the multitude of options they say are available now because of the MVC/SVC/WVC. There looks to be major availability concerns What I am unable to confirm is if in fact this is true. I don’t plan on us traveling at peak season and the use of the interval program also looks appealing.

Sheraton Flex is given away for free. Resale Flex points are limited to book within the Sheraton family of resorts or use II to exchange into other resorts for a fee.

I believe you will get a majority "don't do it" on this deal. 44k point just isn't enough points to get weeklong stays. Plus, the price is so much higher than buying resale. With resale, you can get more points, for much less cost. I suppose there are some scenarios that could make sense for given use cases but even still, buying resale would be much much less expensive.

There are likely better and less expensive ways to accomplish what you want. Let us know the following and we can offer advice:

1. Where and when do you want to go?
2. What size you unit do you need?

Don't do it. Definitely walk away from that deal. So much timeshare you can get for that price. A 2 bedroom SDO lockoff would be great for you to consider over this one. There are so many of those on Redweek. Someday, you could see about enrolling that week into the new Abound program.

If you are looking to access MVC/SVC/WVC, based upon what we learned today a developer purchase will get you that access. It is still unclear whether a resale purchase will get you that access or if you will just be limited to booking in SVC. That question might not be answered until the new combined program launches sometime this summer.

It's probably best that you look at a Vistana point chart for all the properties to see where 44K can get you, for how long and when. Typically that amount of options gets you a studio or small one bedroom for a week, depending on the season.

For $15,000 you can buy a resale Westin Kierland VIllas week and get a 148,100 StarOptions. THough the maintenance fees will be higher.

You don't need to make a fast decision or decide quickly. I take it you haven't bought already, if you have then rescind. There is lots of time to research what works best for your family. Any deal on the table today will likely be there in a couple weeks or more. And resale will always be there.
